Since Kairi was one of the princesses and did not have any darkness in her heart, so she got a shadow that had special powers. Thus the reason why Namine isn't something like Kaxiri or Kairi with an X

Basically all of them have been answered, but I will clear up one answer that a lot of people seem to have gotten wrong a lot.
There are only 7 Orichalcum+ in the game. But there is an inifinate amount of normal Orichalcum's. Sometimes Bulky Vender's will drop them.
