I just finished watching episode...9 I beleive. I think it's in the manga as well, it's the one about the red strings of destiny (sorry, it's been a while since the manga I've read of) (Excuse my English).
As I said, it spoke of the red threads of destiny. How people are connected by a small red thread from their pinky to their souldmate... Domeki-kun backed it up using anatomy, saying there's a vein from your heart to there, and women in feudal Japan would cut off their fingers to show their loyalty.
Not to bring up folklore, but I am starting to beleive more in Hitsuzen and fate. My horoscope and tarot are dead on a large portion of time, but I ignore it. I mean, cards and stars right?
I'm talking to my friend. After a bit, it all just kind of escalades into the red thread things. It just kinda sat in my head... sitting there... I find it interesting, in fact.
An anime is making me beleive in fate... is that bad?

I dont think its bad exactly, you just have to remenber that not everything is fate, that some things are your own doing I think and just nature happening. Like if a random cat got run over that caused a certin amounts of acts to happen and it ended up with me getting a boyfriend-that would be hitsuzen I believe.
This may not be the best example, but its funny so enjoy!

its your choice of what you want to believe, i guess. confused some philosophies of holic work for me, some dont. i certainly believe in "equivalent exchange", though. happens all the time, every day. >< if something good happens, i just know something bads coming. or maybe thats just me being premistic? sweatdrop -sakura

An anime is making you believe in fate? No, that in itself isn't bad, but there are three things that need to be brought up. First, educate yourself more about what your relating your fate too, not just info from the anime. Second, make sure the fate your talking about isn't a common chain of events, like, "Wow, I went to fourth period today," or some other such nonsense as that. Third, don't base your thoughts on your personal fate from a tv show or movie. They have nothing to do with real life, and are never good refferences for anything. But...neverless...I don't think that it's bad that an anime is making you believe in fate, but I do think it's pretty weird.

it depends on what you do on that basis. if you read in tarot cards or your horoscope says your gonna kill someone don't just go out and kill someone cause it says so. so i guess it depends on how far you take it. i belive in fate, karma, and the power of will and choice. and your not alone XXX holic made me belive in fate.

On the subject of relating things to xxxHolic, as I've read and watched more of the anime/manga, I've come to realize that Watanuki and I have a lot of things in common. For example, we can both go from happy to yelling at someone in an instant, have a short temper, and like to cook (but I don't cook nearly as often as Watanuki does). What's freaky is that we're even more similar personality-wise: It seems to me that we both want to help others (no matter what it may cost us), hate it when people worry about us, don't want people to hurt themselves for our sake, underestimate how much people actually care about us, and how we affect those around us.
And I know; those traits aren't necessarily good ones... sweatdrop

Yeah, things in xxxHolic sometimes relates to me. I only believe two things off of watching all the anime and reading up to date with the manga: You can't get something for nothing (pretty common with me) and 'There's no such thing as a coincedence, there is only ineventibility.'.
