Damn this thing... I'm running out of stupid s**t to sell in my shops, because I can't get the Towns to run! I've cleared my browser cache, restarted my computer, I even downloaded the latest versions of Firefox and Macromedia Flash Player! Ooh, and I got that extra-nifty Gaia plug-in for the browser. Wicked cool. But it did give me the idea to make this thread -- vent here about Gaia: technical frustrations, idiots in the forums, and so forth. Begin. xd Edit: It can't be only my computer -- now I'm using my boyfriend's two-month-old obscenely streamlined iMac that does everything short of doing your laundry, and it still won't load... scream

*nods* That's exactly what I'm getting... well, Windandwater just told me on LJ that Gaia's officially said in the Q&A that the Towns are down right now. *sigh*
Meh. I need to get myself to bed soon, anyway. And hopefully they'll be up tomorrow...
One good thing about it, though (and maybe it was on purpose...?) is that all the items from the towns had been devaluing in the marketplace something crazy. But the stuff like rares and donations have been climbing like hell, so... damn unstable market economy. xd

What I hope they've already considered doing is having dummy admin accounts that buy town items in the marketplace and basically dispose of them, which would keep the value of the items more stable.
As for the donation items, I could expect those to go up and up and up... they'd be the equivalent of collector's items -- a '57 BelAir convertible or an autographed jersey of someone, y'know? But the things shouldn't be appreciating so fast... I mean, this blanket's already worth about four thousand g more than I bought it for about a month ago. If this were the real world, I'd be selling like crazy right now and buying up fine jewelry and real estate, about the only things that would still carry their own worth if the economy crashes.
This, though... what, are the servers going to crash, since there's no stock market to do that? xd

I bid on the staff I have equipped on me like last week and I got it for 800 gold and now they are alot more expensive. That is just awesome for me to get it that cheap.

Yeah... my blankie here seems to be back to around the same price I got it for now, but I'm glad I bought all my stuff on my faolan account when I did -- that Coco Kitty Plushie was around 15,000 (and I almost had it, too) when outre gave me one ( heart !), and now it's almost 20,000! Meep!
I've started donating each month, though, if only so that I can have the items in a year or two when (if) the prices go through the roof. sweatdrop

I dunno... I got it for just under 12,000, which is where it's at again now. But when I checked about a week ago (cos I just like to do that sometimes for donation items, because if the price drops I'll buy some to hold onto because the prices just go up over time anyway) the lowest buy price was just over 15,000. *shrug* Lot of market activity then, probably.

I used to have one from a letter...but I sold it
everyone said, "Keep it, it will be so high, watch." So now I keep one of each item from donations just incase. xd

Which reminds me, I did get my batch of June letters this morning, so if we want to use one for guild purposes at some point, it's safely put away.
