1. Yes, I do.
2. He's male. 2a. I'm female. 2b. ... we're just like mostly everyone else?
3. Yes, he does. 3a. His name is Pantalaimon. 3b. ... because I am an unoriginal ho and because of how moved I was in the chapter about Lyra & her death and how she betrayed him and ... *sniffles* He was named Casmir for awhile, but it just didn't seem right.
4. Yes. 4a. He's settled as a weasel-y creature. 4b. ... not sure, exactly; probably shortly after I finished The Amber Spyglass the second time. 4c. ... again, I was so moved by the whole series, plus, I'm a weasel-y type of person, very good at getting out of trouble and soothsaying and working my way through loopholes; plus I'm cute but I bite if you piss me off.
5. [n/a] 5a. [n/a]
6. Before (my) Pantalaimon settled, he was usually a gold-colored fox.
7. I've been aware of Pan-as-Pan since I started reading the books, but I've been talking to/with "myself" for as long as I can remember; when I talk to myself, I refer to me as "we" and there are two distinct "voices" that discuss things.*

Yeah, he prefers being called Loki. Hello? Associtations with gods is awesome. Worship meh, yo. twisted And there you have it. Straight from the daemon's mouth (and what a talkative mouth it is.) We agree. Pokemon are love. Ninetails is my favorite. And Arcanine...and Houndoom...and Charizard for some old-skool-ness. I like fire. o.O
Oh, and did I mention what a great idea this is? Come back fellow guilders! Come back and post!
And Meep, if you're crazy...I'm....whoo. o__O;

2. Is it male or female? Male 2a. ... are you male or female? Female 2b. ... what do you think this says about you? Ithink this shows I am the avewrage person consisting of both male and female
3. Does s/he have a name? Yes 3a. ... what is it? Sandling 3b. ... what was your inspiration for choosing this name? I was reading the trilogy and it felt right. I tried Sergi for while
4. Has your dæmon settled? Yes 4a. ... if yes, as what? A black, and brown tabby cat. 4b. ... if yes, when? About a couple of weeks ago. 4c. ... if yes, why? I don't know but I felt different in myself
5. If you're dæmon hasn't settled, what do you hope it would be? 5a. ... what do you think it would be? (Be honest, folks.)
6. If your dæmon hasn't settled (or, before it settled) what is (was) his/her favorite form? His favourite shape was, to sleep, a cat and during the day he was often a lion.

1. Do you "talk" to your dæmon/acknowledge the possibility of its existance? Yep. Mostly silently, sometimes aloud. I started doing this when I was in middle school, including acknowledging his projected animal form. Then I decided I was 'too old' for the second part(didn't stop talking to him, though). Kouroh disagreed. See, for some time, I have often caught myself looking at my shoulder when talking to myself in my head(or aloud) as if someone was there. Out of pure reflex. So... yeah. sweatdrop biggrin He's usually the 'mature' one, though he sometimes talks me into splurging a little(I can be a real spendthrift). He talks sense into me and comforts me with optimism when I'm being pessimistic. His favorite place, as evidenced above, seems to be my shoulder. Particularly my right one. xd
2. Is it male or female? Male. 2a. ... are you male or female? Female. 2b. ... what do you think this says about you? Umm, I'm mostly straight(sexual orientation)? We're fairly normal? I dunno.
3. Does s/he have a name? Yes. 3a. ... what is it? Kouroh, though we're thinking about giving him a more formal name incorporating this name/nickname. Maybe. 3b. ... what was your inspiration for choosing this name? 'Kuro' means 'dark' or 'black' in Japanese, and someone told me on here that he might be a raven, so...
4. Has your dæmon settled? No, I don't think so. I'm 17, yes, but I don't think either of us has really settled. 4a. ... if yes, as what? 4b. ... if yes, when? 4c. ... if yes, why?
5. If you're dæmon hasn't settled, what do you hope it would be? Hope... Maybe something furry? Birds are cool too, though. Whatever's fine, really. 5a. ... what do you think it would be? (Be honest, folks.) I think he might end up being a raven. The characteristics fit me pretty well.
6. If your dæmon hasn't settled (or, before it settled) what is (was) his/her favorite form? He liked being an ermine, and a bird(though I'm not sure what it is, perhaps a raven) at first. Now he's pretty consistently a weird cross between a ferret and an otter. Maybe he is settled...
7. How long have you been communicating with your dæmon? For a long time, anyways... I read something about most people being awkward with talking to theirs at first, but we've been having distinct mental conversations for some time. Years, probably. I just haven't thought of him as a 'daemon' for a while.

I've never had any imaginary friend, nor do I belive in the existence of real, um...touchable so to say daemons, but I did use to have a plant...not a real one, it was a morphing plant, imaginery, that I thought about when I felt somebody was there or something. It was a loong time ago, it was an it/he, and I usually imagined it/he protecting my home. It was separate from me, unlike daemons, it was more connected to my house, especially my room.
I got my "real" daemon (though I don't know how much he agrees on this), when he became my boyfriend (talking about real human here). Some of you might disagree, but I find him as close to the description of a daemon as anything could be.
Sorry if this is not what you were looking for, but I think there is something about it, really...um, take it as if at some point we've all been separated from our daemons, and imagine the have been combined with a person. So it hurts we look, we search for them, sometimes we've been separated for too long, sometimes we've though it was the other ones' fault for being alone, so it's hard to find. Maybe that's what sould-mates are, part daemons-which makes them understand us well, part human, which makes them different than us, intriguing. HWo knows, Maybe I've got my boyfriend's daemon and he's got mine.
So I'll take it as if we are both part-part. Here goes:
1. Do you "talk" to your dæmon/acknowledge the possibility of its existance? daemons as discribed in the book, no, daemons as persons with great similarities to the daemons of the book, yes. And yes, I do tlak to him, he's my boyfriend. xd
2. Is it male or female? male 2a. ... are you male or female? female 2b. ... what do you think this says about you?that I'm strait?
3. Does s/he have a name? 3a. ... what is it? 3b. ... what was your inspiration for choosing this name? not mine to chose...
4. Has your dæmon settled? I think not, neither of us have yet.
5. If you're dæmon hasn't settled, what do you hope it would be? 5a. ... what do you think it would be? (Be honest, folks.) I think either a beaver or a white bear.
6. If your dæmon hasn't settled (or, before it settled) what is (was) his/her favorite form? Not that he has said anything but it usually is white bear or a puppy. Big puppy. BIG puppy with flappy ears! blaugh
7. How long have you been communicating with your dæmon?* Three years ago I met him, 2 years ago I started understanding him, as if I half-closed my eyes for the first time.
Sorry for the long speach...I know hardly anyone would read it.

1. I talk to myself, which isn't that like talking to a daemon?
2. Is it male 2a. ... I am female 2b. ... Showing I'm heterosexual
3. Does s/he have a name? 3a. ... Kohnahnan 3b. ... my husband
4. Has your dæmon settled? 4a. ... yes, as a rabbit, lop-eared, with wings 4b. ... it settled on my wedding night 4c. ... I made love for the first time
6. Before, it preferred to be a chamelon, or something that could easily hide 7. I have been communicating for longer than I can remember

Hey, I just noticed this thread, and it's pretty cool... let's not let it die! Also, I'm not gonna read anything anyone else posts that hasn't done my quiz yet, so I don't skew any answers. whee
1. Do you "talk" to your dæmon/acknowledge the possibility of its existance? Not as a physical/seperate thing, but I do think whenever you have an inner dialogue, that's what you would be saying with your daemon.
2. Is it male or female? male 2a. ... are you male or female? female 2b. ... what do you think this says about you? Well, I can't really see anything special about me that would make him different than the norm... also, it seems the popular agreement is that straight people have daemons of the opposite sex.
3. Does s/he have a name? yes 3a. ... what is it? Canzarion 3b. ... what was your inspiration for choosing this name? It's a kind of pormanteau I made up that means something like "song of the sky" in Latin.
4. Has your dæmon settled? yes 4a. ... if yes, as what? a great horned owl 4b. ... if yes, when? I guess when I was about 12... but I didn't figure out what he would be until recently. whee 4c. ... if yes, why? Well, out of the four classic elements, I think I'm most like air, which is characterized by being talkative, analytical, thirsty for knowledge, grudging, and short tempered. That's why I think he would be a bird, particularly a bird of prey because of the short-tempered part and because I'm not often hesitant to show my anger. Now, as for the owl part, owls were one of the symbols of the greek goddess of wisdom/knowledge, Athena, and because of that are now symbols of wisdom/knowledge. Now, I'm not claiming to be a super genius or anything, but gaining knowledge is one of the main things I like in life; I can't get enough of science. For example, I eventually want to seriously study the origins of the universe itself. Finally, I think a great horned owl specifically because out of all the owls, they have the widest range of hoots and calls, often making up long "songs". Music is one of my favorite things in life (not just listening to it but playing it and making it up) and I can't imagine living without it. Wow, that ended up long. But yeah, I put a lot of thought (probably too much) into this. sweatdrop
5. If you're dæmon hasn't settled, what do you hope it would be? n/a 5a. ... what do you think it would be? (Be honest, folks.) n/a
6. If your dæmon hasn't settled (or, before it settled) what is (was) his/her favorite form? dunno
7. How long have you been communicating with your dæmon? n/a

1. Do you "talk" to your dæmon/acknowledge the possibility of its existance? -- Of course biggrin He's that little voice inside my head that counter-acts everything I say. Sometimes in opposition.
2. Is it male or female? -- Male 2a. ... are you male or female? -- Female 2b. ... what do you think this says about you? -- Ying-Yang, baby.
3. Does s/he have a name? -- Of course. 3a. ... what is it? -- Mordechai 3b. ... what was your inspiration for choosing this name? -- For a bit there the name 'Malachai, and Mordechai' were haunting my brain... all along the while learning about daemons (with the term daemon attached).. and yea, just clicked.
4. Has your dæmon settled? -- Unsure. But I think he may be settling... 4a. ... if yes, as what? -- Siberian Lynx, oddly. I checked the traits, and it's so strange how much is so ME. If it weren't for penguin's quiz, I probably wouldn't have gone back to the Lynx as a possibility... 4b. ... if yes, when? -- Not yet, silly. Maybe soon. 4c. ... if yes, why? -- Why? Because he says so?
5. If you're dæmon hasn't settled, what do you hope it would be? 5a. ... what do you think it would be? (Be honest, folks.) -- I don't think we can ever 'hope' it to be anything... it just becomes it, and you have to check traits and personality see if it matches you. Honestly, in the beginning I thought my daemon would be the same as my theriotype, a coyote, but after learning more about it, I realised how wrong I was ^_^
6. If your dæmon hasn't settled (or, before it settled) what is (was) his/her favorite form? -- Eurasian Otter - likes to wiggle his butt to music as one... Then when I was younger her was a dog, and for a bit there he was a clouded leopard (just trying it out) and then a Margay... and now siberian lynx.
7. How long have you been communicating with your dæmon?* -- Since childhood biggrin

Well, I know that there are two sides to every person; but Im unsure which side is which. Sure, I think I could believe I have a daemon, but I don't think I can talk to it much now. I know what he'd be like. 2.a Male. 2.b I am female. 2.c this means...I am normal? 3. Yes, he does. But I don't know what it is. If I try to name him I'll give him someone else's name. *sigh* 4. No. He should have by now, and is starting to, but not yet. 5. When he does settle, I think it would be some sort of flying creature...or a creature like a kitten, affectionate and childlike. But I really don't know. I hope he'll be a fruit bat--warm-blooded, mammal, yet wings and claws, and sonar, and vegetarian too. >< 6. Birds and fuzzy things. Tiny things, usually. Like mice, or small cats, or ermines or foxes. 7. Actually, though I read the Golden Compass ages ago, I only started listening/talking about a year ago...even more so about six months ago. Long story behind that, really.

1. Do you "talk" to your dæmon/acknowledge the possibility of its existance? 'Course. Though I only really "talk" to her if I'm concentrating on it- otherwise it's the normal back-and-forth that everyone has with that voice in their heads
2. Is it male or female? Female 2a. ... are you male or female? Also Female 2b. ... what do you think this says about you? Is it meant to say anything about me? It just means that she's female
3. Does s/he have a name? Yes 3a. ... what is it? Kirien- Or Kiri for short. 3b. ... what was your inspiration for choosing this name? Not sure- we decided that we liked it XD
4. Has your dæmon settled? Yes 4a. ... if yes, as what? A Blue jay 4b. ... if yes, when? Years ago XD Three Years? Maybe? Haven't really been counting 4c. ... if yes, why? That's just what she wanted to be- I actually didn't know anything about Blue Jays apart from a vague idea of what they look like (never seen one in real life. They're not native to AUS). Then I did a bit of research and I am uncannily like one in personality etc.
5. If you're dæmon hasn't settled, what do you hope it would be? N/A 5a. ... what do you think it would be? (Be honest, folks.) N/A
6. If your dæmon hasn't settled (or, before it settled) what is (was) his/her favorite form? She loved being a grey tabby. I actually thought she would settle like that- she had only changed into a Blue Jay once before she settled.
7. How long have you been communicating with your dæmon? All my life? Only consciously maybe a bit over three years? (A few months before she settled)
