Anyway post your favorite type of anime show, why you like that genre and your favorite show in that genre.
My favorite: Mecha
Why is it this: Not all mech shows are good, but if done right, they kick all other shows out of the water. That and the Japaness love this genre a lot, and grew up with it there whole lives. It's an icon of all anime, and it's perhaps the coolest type of anime even to this day. Besides, almost 95% of animes either have mecha, mecha references or mechanical designs similar to the Japaness stylings.
Favorite shows in this cadigory: Right now I love Diebuster because it introduces new ideas on how to do mech shows...not to mention how they can be summoned. Very colorful, and each episode brings something new to the viewer.
Other shows:
-Evangelion
-Godannar
What I look foward too: I have a huge list of mech show I whould like to watch.

-Burst angel

Just about anything, I think, not sure.
Anime I really like (currently):
Full Metal Alchemist
Zatch Bell (yes, I know his name was changed, don't complain)
Naruto (although I don't really watch it much xD? I missed too much.)
AIR (I went on two marathons ... xD)
Eh .. whatever. xD Most anime I see are on cable, although I do have some at home (AIR be one of them, it's never been licensed so I got a Southeast Asian copy oO). I'm not really an anime maniac.
The manga I totally love is Dragon Knights. Has anyone ever seen the artwork? (Mineko Ohkami) Her very unusual, and if you try to draw her characters in some other style, they don't look like her characters anymore. And to mimic her style is hard >_<;;
I also really love Akira Himekawa's Zelda manga. ^-^;; Minish Cap tops the cuteness factor, though. @_@

I don't like any single genre of anime; although, I mostly like fantasy.
Anime I like:
-Wolf's Rain : The graphics are so...pretty, and the story is somewhat enticing.
-FMA : Plot is interesting. ((The manga is better.))
Manga I like:
-Hagane no Renkinjutsushi (FMA) : Plot is interesting.
-Kanpai! : Murakami's humor OWNS.
-Death Note : Raito > Naruto
-Kanatakara : D: The shoujo in me wants to burst free.

Plot dosent drag on...Its not to long but not to short....There are barely any Fillers ((maybe A few every now and thene but notthing as bad as Naruto)) and Yusuke is the biggest a*****e/p***k/demon/deadguy/teenager/Detective/Hero..ever

I'm a big fan of really random stuff. Things with a lot of humor appeal to me (Haaaaaail Il Palazzooo~), but I'll also sit and watch X/1999 - it's one of my favorites. Hmm.
Anime I like:
- X/1999
- Excel Saga
- CCS
- most things by Miyazaki (wasn't thrilled by Porco Rosso or Totoro, though)

- X
- Excel Saga
- Tsubasa
- Bleach
- Saiyuki

I LOATHE mechs, robots, and other mechanical types of anime. There are just too many of them, they're boring to me, I also don't get the plot (I'm talking to you Gundam).
I like actiony anime...with fantasy. Like ninjas, spirits/ghosts, voodoo dolls, alchemist, Miyazaki movies.

Yeah, I hear Gundam isn't that good, and Robotech was okay, but wasn't as badass as Diebuster. mrgreen

Must... resist... urge... to... rant... about... Pretty Cure... Pretty much anything, really. Mostly anything except mecha. Not for a lack of love for giant robots, just the state the genre is currently in. Mostly shoujo, fantasy, comedy, martial arts. Any mix of the four is good. NO GOOD! It's more like it's a show I really like that gets far more flak than it deserves so I'm set on showing people how good it is in the most annoying of ways. xp
