I wanted to create a place for just plain and simple Tsubasa questions. It can be about the plot, characters, or whatever you feel, as long as it's appropriate. If there's spoilers, I ask that you please put them in white.
I hope this thread is OK to create, since I myself had a few questions and did not know where to place them, since I did not see any corresponding questions.
Okay, here is one of those burning questions that has been bothering me ever since Tsubasa came out. Why are some of the letters capitalized in RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE?

Yeah.... I was wondering about that too... It does seem odd, doesn't it? Also, the anime (only called Tsubasa Chronicle) doesn't have the strange capitalization.

I think it applies to the fact that the world of Clow is very desert-like. Get it? A reservior in a desert? (not sure on this) Sakura has wings in this series so perhaps she is like the angel of the desert. The "Reservior" of the desert is Sakura? eek
The "chronicles" could mean many things. It could be the record of their adventures for us in this manga form. It could be Sakura's feathers which are the chronicles of her life.
A few theories... I believe I read the desert-reservior idea from a site.

Why are some of the letters capitalized in RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE? i think this one is pretty simple... it looks cool and its trendy that way. you know in japan, they really have this thing for using other languages (like english)... and i think they were just trying to make it look cool. whee personally, i like 'i' in its lower case form better. ah, about the change in tv name... its most likely to shorten the title, and thats it. it also implies that the anime will not be exactly like the manga. as for the words 'reservoir' and 'chronicle' themselves... im not as sure. chronicles imply stories... like documentation of journies and travels... which this story is really about ^^ and 'reservoir' makes it sound not like a literal reservoir of water, but perhaps something like a reservoir meaning something being saved up somewhere. so like these are 'saved and hidden stories of another dimension', giving this story a cool neo-age feel ^^ er... thats my take... ^^

I agree with the anime title. It does seem like the anime will take a shorter run than the manga.

I believe the title change is just for pronuciation reasons. Engrish and stuff.

But if it were for that reason, it really wouldn't make a difference if the letters were capitalized or lowercase.

i remember reading this in a CLAMP interview....
As well all know TSUBASA means wings. reservoir is something that holds something. Sakura ias the reservoir they are speaking of. She is the one who holds the power. andChronicle is a story. So this is the story of Sakura's wings......hope i explained that right.

Wouldn't putting the spoiler in white be a bad idea? Sometimes, someone might highlight the entire page accidently while refreshing or opening this page. I think putting the spoiler in tiny font is better considering if it was hightlighted accidently the person still wouldn't be able to read them. Also for the title, I wouldn't know, but CLAMP does have a liking with playing around with the title in english.. consider xxxHOLiC. That title means abosuletly nothing. But TRC has a meaning at least, so maybe they just did that to make the title look more unique? I dunno and mostly, I like others' theory than this one :
