 Tufani was happy. Ohsoveryhappy. For the first time, Jani was actually letting her explore on her own! Granted, she was supposed to remain close to Pride Rock, and she was only allowed out until the sun completely set, but she was still exploring on her own, out in the open, and the sun's rays were low enough in the sky where they weren't a real bother to her black pelt. So now she was at the base of Pride Rock, searching for a new friend to play with.

Shimah made her way through the grassy plains of the Pridelands with all intent to find someone. She hasn't seen her siblings in a while, and knew that her mother was in a frenzy to find her younger brother. The corners of her mouth curled in as she wandered to and fro before she stopped. There was a figure in the distance and it looked like a lion! She made her way towards the other before calling out, "Hello!"

Tufani perked up at the sound of another's voice. It sounded like someone her age, or close enough to it where Tufani didn't care. "Hello, person I can't see!" she said, looking about to try to spot whoever had called out to her. All of the grassy plains seemed the same; where was this mysterious potential friend? "I can't see you, but I'd like to be your friend," she said. " My name is Tufani. Would you like to play with me?"

Shimah heard the other's response and smiled. Oh! A new friend. She nodded her head as she made her way towards the black female, "Of course I'd love to be your friend, I'm Shimah!" Spotting the other's tail, she pounced on it and rolled over to her back, "I'm right here! A game sounds good to me, Tufani!"

Ah, so this tail pouncing was a game? That sounded fun enough. "Nice to meet you, Shimah! But I bet you couldn't pounce on my tail again!" she said as she started running in a zig-zag fashion through the grass. Shimah looked a bit younger than her, so she didn't want to be mean to her friend by taking advantage of her larger strides.

Shimah perked up as Tufani issued a challenge. Tail pouncing! The green cub giggled happily as she called to the other, "I bet I can!" She bounced her way after Tufani, following along the zig-zag fashion as best as she could and sometimes getting close enough to pounce.

"I bet you can't," Tufani giggled and spun around in the opposite direction. She was running past Shimah now, juuuust out of reach. This really was a fun game; she couldn't remember the last time she had seen a lion close to her own age. Jani was the right size, but she was too much of a worrywart to really play like this.

Shimah saw Tufani turn towards her and tried to pounce on that tail of her's. Missing my mere inches, she landed and giggled, "I'll get you soon enough, Tufani!" This was actually quite fun and wondered why she didn't get to play with her siblings this much. Ah well, she turned and spotted a black tuff close by and pounced on it once again. "Did I get you? Did I get you?"

"Ya got me," Tufani said, dramatically tumbling backwards as she giggled. "You're fast," she added. "That was a lot of fun. I'm glad that I came here to Pride Rock. You're the first person to play with me so far, but I bet we'll find more friends as long as we keep explorin'. This place is amazing...have you explored it yet, Shimah?"

Shimah giggles as she landed on Tufani's tail and then rolled off to the grass. She looked up at her friend and smiled, "Really? I know there are plenty of other lions here...I just haven't seen any of them!" She paused before answering, "I've only explored some of this area...want to go see the watering hole?"

"I'm the same as you; I haven't seen any other lions, but I know they're around." At the offer to go to the watering hole, she grinned. "Coooool, the watering hole," Tufani said. "I've only been there once, and that was when I was a little cub, before my mom Jani even found me. I'd love to see it again, now that I'm older and am not a lost orphan cub," she looked around the area and squinted, as if trying to gauge the correct direction. After a few moments of this, she quietly said, "Could you lead the way?"

Shimah giggled softly at Tufani before nodding her head, "But of course!" Turning towards her right with a spring in her step, the watering hole was one of her favorite places to go. "This way! It's so pretty, I love going there." Turning back to make sure that Tufani was following her, she flicked her tail.

Tufani fell behind Shimah, taking her time to look around at her surroundings. "This whole place is so pretty compared to the thorn patch. Though that place is fun to explore too," she sighed. "An interesting place to live, but I'm glad Jani brought us here. I'm even more glad that I've already made a friend." Eyeing Shimah's flicking tail, Tufani smirked and narrowed her eyes before attempting to smack it with one of her front paws.

Shimah felt the attack on her tail and yelp slightly, "Hey! You got me!" A small giggle escaped from her, "Yea, it's nice and pretty here with plenty of things to explore." Her gaze looked ahead as they started to twinkle, "Oh look! The water!" She ran towards the water before leaping in, splashing everything close by.

Tufani giggled. "Payback," she said, before her friend ran toward the water. Not wanting to be left out, she ran and jumped up into the water, creating small waves. "The last time I was here, I fell in on accident," she said. "It's much more fun to fall in on purpose."
