I have a question for any of those in a magical path. I am getting married soon, and although I am pagan, as well as a few members of my family, my Fiance' is Catholic. He is incredibly supportive of my way of faith, and suggested that before the actual wedding, we go through a handfasting. Even though I have read many things about them, I'm not sure of how to go about it. Does anyone have any suggestions about how to make it easier, successful, and comfortable for both of us? I know some of our family may come, and we don't want it to seem too akward. Anything will help. Thank you.

...actually, you might be able to encorporate it into a catholic ceremony, and none would be the wiser. One of my friends is catholic and part of the ceremony was similar to handfasting. After they put on the rings, a ribbon was placed over their wrists to verify the union. It wasn't perminant, but you might be able to talk to the clergy performing the ceremony into replacing the usual ribbon for something a bit more perminant (depending on how long you intend to wear it).

Hope it helps a little bit.
And Congrats
heart

mazel tov! the only problem I'd see here would be some dissatisfaction with perhaps some more devout members of his family. But I wouldn't worry about that. I agree with Thyna, you could even incorporate it into the marriage ceremony itself.
