Gameplay: This game has awesome, inovative gameplay. It has tons of combo moves that you can use to rip your enemies to shreds. You get to use these chain blades that you use to swing around, as it proves from the very beginning that they are very fun to play with. It has many elements that make the game fun. It has non-stop action that proves to work really well. Also, especially on bosses, after you hurt your enemy enough, you are able to execute a mini-game by pressing the Circle button. This ranges from pressing any/all buttons, and turning the analog sticks according to what's shown on screen. Trust me, you will be trying to watch the awesomeness and end up messing up the combos, but it is really fun. 10/10!
Graphics/Visuals: This game has better than average graphics (in-game). You won't even care about it that much when you're busy ripping off the heads of Gorgons, ripping undead soldiers in half, etc. Now, the cut-scenes... You had to get me started... The cut-sceens for this game are beyond gorgeous! They almost look like CG at certain times. This game is great for eye candy... Believe it! 10/10!
Music: You may have heard this, but God Of War has beautiful music... I think that's one of the things that earned it an award. It has great orchestral kind of music, and when you're in the heat of a bloody/gory battle, it plays really well. 10/10!
Other Attributes: It has a little bit of puzzle solving, which at times can get a bit annoying. But the puzzles work well, and aren't too hard. It also has an RPG element, where you can upgrade your 6 abilites which you gain through out the game. The abilities themselves are great and fun to use. 8/10!
Story: The story for God Of War may seem like it isn't a very long one, but it passes it up in many different areas. The story though, is about a man named Kratos. He is a man that grew up in a town called Sparta. There he came into his adult-hood where it sort of went down-hill from there. He had an army of maybe 50 men and soon his men grew to the thousands. One day he found himself overwhelmed in battle, his men were loosing to the barbarians, he found himself inches away from death. It was then that he made his mistake. He cried out, "Ares! Destroy my enemies, and my life... is yours." The God Of War stepped through the sky and saved Kratos, he would make him the ultimate warrior. Kratos went from city to city destroying all in his path, all in the name of his master, Ares. His next victims would be a horrible sight for him to see. He went to destroy a village that had a temple that offered prayers to the godess Athena, Ares hated sister. Then, Kratos commited a horrible deed, he killed his own wife in daughter. He went into the temple thinking that his family was left back in Sparta. It was a cruel trick orchestrated by Ares. So, basically, Kratos leaves the service of Ares and trys to redeem himself by killing Ares for Athena, whos town Athens is so convieniently being attacked by Ares. The reason why Kratos has to do this, is because Zeus forbid the gods from waging war on each other, so it is up to Kratos. So he goes on a journey to find Pandora's Box and use its powers to destroy Ares. 9/10!
Summary: God Of War is a great game, especially for hard-core action/adventure/puzzle/RPG gamer... You will fall in love with this game when you beat it. But beware of God Mode, it is possible to beat it, but you have to be practically perfect when playing it. It has many fun and cool extras that you will want to watch over and over again. I guess there's not much else to say, except this game is not for the kiddies, or the un-easy stomachs. This game is mainly rated M for its none-stop blood and Gore and intense violence. Kratos (the main character) is not a friendly person. He has a shadowed past which seemed to have made him into thhe death seeking man that he is. He rips the wings off of harpies, rips undead soldiers in half, he's so damn pissed that he'll rip your arm off and cut your own head off with it. Also there is a few scenes with women that have their breasts oncovered, and the female monsters also are naked. There are only 3 bosses in the game, which really sucsk, because the boss battles are so awesome/intense! Overall, though, great game!...
Overall: 10/10
I hope you all enjoyed my review, and will play the game, much thanks, Gore Rules...
