Self-explanatory. If you have a question/suggestion/idea/etc for the shop or the petshop, this is where it goes. This sticky ensures that the all moderators of the Guild see your concern, and so that everyone else can have input on your ideas too. If there's a private grievance, do PM TehColorist with it, or even Roseanne if you're not comfortable having *everyone* on A-Team read it.
From time to time there may be questions or polls up for discussion that are put up by someone on A-Team, and this is where those will be discussed.
This is also the place to post updates on your work status, or telling people that you're going on vacation, coming off of vacation, are ill, etc. In otherwords, personal chatting is allowed here biggrin

I have an order of business: ( sweatdrop )
Guild Options
Right now I have the guild as Private, which means anyone can read the posts, but no one but members can post or make new threads. The obvious problem with this is that some people would like to chat with customers and take orders in their shop stall, and you can't do that with Private. Also, it makes bumping your shop stall thread a little bit obviously contrived, because you're going to be literally spamming your thread, and I don't really want people *stuck* in one position -- on the other hand, I don't want people bumping every 5 minutes ( stressed )
However, were it public, there could be new threads started up all over the place, not just the regular n00b posts "Where am I?" "How do u color?" but also non-members trying to set up shops, which isn't really fair to the people who have endured through everything and who've donated gold, time, and or effort to make the group, and then have some people come in and muck up the shop. It'd be relatively simple to delete these threads, but I don't know how much of an epidemic it would be, and any general threads would push down the shop stalls on the page.
Possible solutions for making it a Public guild include Stickying all the shop-stalls, and making all the Rules/critique arena/etc posts Announcement stickys to keep everything on top, and then allow chatter down below.
I want to hear if anyone has any opinions on this matter, but for now we'll be trial-basing having it Public, with a *request* for no new threads. I don't know what they'd need new threads for anyway... (erm, I'd especially like to see suggestions for this one, as I'm trying to limit all possible discussions to different stickies/shop-stalls, so: Why else WOULD a person start a new thread -- besides a stupid n00b question or saying "someone color my picture" blah blah blah) It's easy as pie to change our options, but in the meantime feedback on how this is working would be fantaaabulous.
And as always, I value your opinions. Even if having it Public is working out great as far as I can tell, but most people hate it, we can gladly change it to whatever is best for the members of the guild smile
Oh yeah: What do you think of a banner contest? And the "brightest crayon in the box," not as an award, but as just a "featured artist" of the month type thing, randomly chosen by randomizer.org (as suggested by Khet), and the featured artist will be featured in the Brightest Crayon in the Box thread and have a little interview or what have you...
In closing, three things to think about: Public/Private, Banner contest, Monthly Featured Artist

Eeehhhh... I'm a little worried about the public thing... but I suppose we can always use TehColorist to clean out any spam... unless it gets out of hand, then we WILL have to go private...
Banner contest.. since this is a coloring guild, not a graphics guild, what about we get someone to get us banner-sized lineart and have a banner-COLORING contest?
Brightest Crayon.... well, it WAS my idea... wink and I'd be willing to take over responsibility for that if no one else wants to...

Yess! We got our guild! surprised You should no though that I might not be around the guild as much as the treads and stuff (I hope you leave them up) because I never think to go to guilds. sweatdrop
Anyways:
Public/Private: Go Public! If things get out of hand you can always hire more A-Teamers.
Banner Contest: I personally would like a "Colour The Banner" Contest more. neutral
Random Brigtness Thing: oOo! Spiffy! I Liketh it aloteth! whee
mlem, Thank you. biggrin

I like the idea of it being public, it adds charcter to the place ^^ Plus everything will be on scale, like on a main forum where theres countless potential spammers but here, since its not as out there or could possibly be for the matter, there would't as many smappers in the first place so the load would be more managable. I hope my thoughts make sense sweatdrop
EDIT: "smappers" xd I ment spammers
As for the brightest crayon, I think thats a great idea! If it we're to be chosen by a randomizer as mentioned, then it would really give this place a feel-good feeling because it gives any and everyone a chance to shine.

I personaly like the idea of going public. Just be really, really strict. Is there anyway that you can make it so people can post in threads, just not create new ones?
Either a create the banner or color the banner is fine with me, owever seeing as this is a coloring guild, coloring a banner seems more appropriate.
Brightest Crayon sounds really cool. Like others have said, it would lend a sense of commuity and team to the guild.

I like the idea of going public as well. I think it would be a very good idea to sticky all of our shops. ^^
And if the spam gets to bad we can be spaminators! Rawr!
I would love to have a banner contest. Color or create, I would love to participate!
And as for a featured colorist, I think it's a great idea. I think it would add to the whole aura of crayons.
And a question:
How do you guys feel about creating links to our individual shops? I was thinking about it last night when I was deciding my layout because usually in auctions and such there is a 'link me!' post, so I was wondering if we should just keep the links general to the guild or have our own shop links.

QueenofShaniqwaland...
I didn't wait to see what was in that link in your randomness section, but the fact that it opened a media player kind of worried me. Unless you own the video you're showing, you might want to consider removing it.
Don't want one of our shopowners to get in trouble for copyright infringement sweatdrop

Don't want one of our shopowners to get in trouble for copyright infringement sweatdrop It was supposed to open a media player on a free web page that a friend of mine sent me. It's just supposed to be a link to a page =/ I'm not hosting it myself, so I didn't think there would be any harm in just linking the page. It's a random 70's German dico preformance about Moscow. Randomly enough. I've found on seveal free sites. I personally find it very amusing. But is it comming up in a seperate media player? If it is then I will definatly take it down, for it is not supposed to do that, and I don't want people to get the wrong impression.

Should we put our own shop links in there, or should we only promote the guild itself instead of ourselves?
