The island, in its starkness, in its unyielding bleakness, holds no deceptions, no illusions. Poisons aren't sugar-coated, brutality isn't masked by silk and lace. There is nowhere for cruelty to hide.
Cildru Dyathe's Island is home to Char and other demon dead children who had been abused in life. Jaenelle once built a bridge between Briarwood and the Island so the victims of Briarwood's "uncles" could find their way to the Island.
