BIOGRAPHY
Spawned in Germany during 1984, KMFDM pioneered the crossover between techno/dance and heavy metal with their signature industrial sound. Moving to Chicago in the mid-80s KMFDM was the pride of Wax Trax Records during the labels peak. Rapidly evolving year by year through intense experimentation and touring; the band has redefined themselves with each new release.
Venturing on to dabble in side projects and then re-establish KMFDM in Seattle during 1999 Saschas revolving band of misfits stood the test of time. Currently helmed by the dual vocal attack of the bands founder Sascha and siren Lucia KMFDM celebrated 20 years of musical excellence by travelling performing 62 shows in the US, Canada, Europe and Australia. To quote themselves, The future belongs to those of us still willing to get our hands dirty. Living by their D.I.Y. philosophy, KMFDM has launched their own online store www.kmfdmstore.com and record label (KMFDM Records). The self-proclaimed fathers of industrial-rock show no signs of stopping.

BREAK UP, MDFMK AND REFORMING
Due to differences between Sascha Konietzko and other band members, KMFDM split up on January 22, 1999, with ex-members Gnter Schulz and En Esch forming the band Slick Idiot, and Konietzko and Tim Skold temporarily regrouping as MDFMK. MDFMK released one self-titled album with Republic/Universal Records. KMFDM reformed in 2002 with Konietzko as the sole original member, but with the return of Raymond Watts, an early member of the group and occasional contributor over the years. Gnter Schulz and En Esch were invited rejoin the band but declined.
Currently KMFDM comprises Sascha Konietzko, Lucia Cifarelli, Jules Hodgson, Andy Selway, and Steve White with contributions from Raymond Watts.
