i find science so useless i mean you do need to know how the planets are and other basic things but if you aren't going to be a scientist when you're older i don't think you need to learn about rocks -_-
Teachers will tell you that you need to know the stuff because it will come in handy later. I think it's because most kids need a practical reason to learn something when they don't have a personal interest in it.
The real reason you learn core subjects (math, science, english, history) is so that you get a general dose of a little of everything. It's so that you can make a more informed decision on what you want to do with your life. You've already had a taste of a wide range of subjects, so you can better decide what's right for you.
Just to give you an example from my own life - my dad has a PhD in English Lit. I grew up around books and I just always assumed that I would do something that had to do with English. In my third year of University, I had to take what they call a "breadth area course." It basically means, there are four types of classes at my school (languages, sciences, technical stuff like architecture, and one another that I forget) and you have to take at least one class from each of these breadth areas. So I took Psychology for my science one. I fell in love with it. I enjoyed every minute of learning about the parts of the brain and how all the chemicals interact and how drug use affects your body. Now I am kicking myself because I waited so long to take Psych and it's too late to change my major now.
The point being that I always assumed I hated science because it was just one of those "boring" subjects. I never paid attention to it in High School. I enjoyed it, but I didn't realize just how much I enjoyed it. And now I feel like I picked the wrong major because of it.
My point in all this is just to say that there is a reason you are learning science. That reason is to see if you like it or not. If you automatically dismiss it by saying "I'll never use this!" you are closing yourself off from a valuable experience. Take part in all your classes and consider them very thoroughly. Think about which classes you enjoy going to. Then think about which parts of the curriculum you enjoy most within each class. That will help you a great deal when it comes to picking a major.
As for myself, I hate Women's Studies. I'm taking one right now and it's so unbelievably annoying. I pay thousands of dollars a semester to LEARN, not to listen to some angry woman lecture for hours at a time about how much men suck
