Well, for those of you that don't know (which I'm assuming is most), Parkour is a discipline involving going from Point A to Point B in the most efficient manner possible, using nothing but the power of the human body. It was developed in the suburbs of Paris about 10 years ago by David Belle and Sebastian Foucan, inspired by their fathers' military obstacle course training.

It's not really a traditional sport, since their are no points involved, and no teams. And it doesn't really fit under 1 on 1 sports, since there's not opponent. Most have classified it as a martial art, as it's just as much a mental discipline as it is a physical one.

You should definitely give it a shot, especially if you live in a big city. There are tracuers just about everywhere, all you have to do is get in touch.

Sites I visit:

http://pkcali.com <------ for when I'm home down south

I'd love to do it (because I sort of did stuff like it as a kid), but I'd be afraid of being arrested for it at my age. sweatdrop

i'd love to try it but it's pretty dangerous and i'd just be worried about injuries, especially with my weight i mightn't be able to jump so far etc.

Yeah, it would probably help to be in as best a shape as possible for all the running and jumping and acrobatic stuff. I think I'm in pretty good shape, but I don't know if I'll be able to keep up with all the running and flipping and stuff. sweatdrop
