A load of bull, if you'll ask me. Kagome uses PURITY ARROWS. And she uses her PURITY ARROWS to kill youkai. She even managed to damage someone as formidable as Naraku. People are too stupid to recognize anything.

Although Kagome has no formal training, I don't think you can deny that she is indeed a miko/priestest. She is able to use her purity attacks and purify things (*coughshikonjewelcough*). She may not be a formal miko but she is one all the same.

That's debatable.
She hasn't had the training, but it's her birthright. She's kind of a miko, but yet she isn't...hmmm....it's hard to say it without it sounding weird...
She may be able to purify things but again, she can't be a full miko unless she's been trained......
Basically she is as close to being a miko as you can get without officially being one.

Though she has the power, she is not recognized as a priestess due to her lack of training and dress. Think about it, people may have spiritual powers and choose to not train. So how can you rely on their powers for situation that would require a priestess. Now with Kagome, she trains in battle is learning to harness her powers. Therefore, she is training, and is active enough to be one.

Now with Kagome, she trains in battle is learning to harness her powers. Therefore, she is training, and is active enough to be one. Yes, but the important part is that Kagome is recognized throughout the series as a miko, despite not having received any formal training. Everyone, even Kikyou, recognizes her as a miko.

stressed Oh my, well the way I see it is because Kagome is not from Kikyo's time frame she never had the chance to train....ummm not to mention she did not even know she had these power locked up inside her! But when she found that she had the powers Kikyo's younger sister did however teach her how to use them and when you teach some one, is it not the same thing as training some one!? sweatdrop
