So...we know that now Harmony probably isn't going to happen in the books, I know it's possible, but not likely. I'm just wondering what's everyones opinions on the pairings mentioned above (which are most likely going to happen)
For me, I don't like them really at all. I don't mind Ron/Hermione I guess, but I never have and never will read a fanfic with them together (unless it contains another pairing I love.) I thought it was done well in the 6th book, anyway.
As for Harry/Ginny, it just seemed really really random. Like when the whole beast thing came up I was like "Wait...WHAT!?" I'm glad he got a girlfriend, but I felt it was just becuase JK wanted to please her fans, like she went to fanfiction.net and saw a lot of Harry/Ginny fics and thought "Oh, I'll do that!" Hell, the whole Harry/Ginny thing felt just like fanfiction! I dunno, I didn't like that, at all.
And everytime I mention Harry/Ron/Hermione (my favorite pairing, plus it makes Harry/Hermione and Ron/Hermione fans happy) they're like "EWWW GROSS NO." ... sad
Well, I guess there's always Harry/Hermione fanfiction, plus the moments that were in the first 5 books.

I don't like them. I can at least live with Ron/Hermione but Harry/Ginny came out nowhere. She wasn't even that big of a character or anything. I was very unhappy with how it was written too. My personal favorite book was OotP because it was well written.

i don't really like the Harry/Ginny pairing...i DON'T have a problem with it, its just that i want to know why people want Harry to be with Ginny

I think Harry/ Ginny is cheesy. its like a whole hero rescues the damsel in distress is boring and over used.
As for Ron/ Hermoine all of the things they say to defend the ship based on canon can be used for harry/ hermione as well.

Ginny/Harry and Hermione/Ron is really really really really gross. I mean Harry is sensibly stable so I dont think he would ever think about dating his friend's sister. I could see dating a friend like Hermy but not Ginny. Ron is just a bit stupid so I dont think he could keep up but that's just me.

The thing that gives me a happy chuckle though, is the fact that people who pair up at 16 years old (Harry) and 15 (Ginny), don't usually get paired up for life (married). I mean, at that age, one isn't experienced enough to make that kind of important decision. To make things worse for HG fans, Ginny would be Harry's first official girlfriend. Cho doesn't count, since they only went on one date and it went horribly wrong (they never got the chance to officially "hook up" after that date). What kind of guy marries their first girlfriend?! Oh yeah: A desperate one. But Harry doesn't seem to be that kind of guy. I mean, he's hot (in his own way)! So, even if the books end with Harry and Ginny together, most likely it won't last forever. And then, Harry will realize his madly burning passion for Hermione and both will ditch their current girlfriend or boyfriend to go elope and live happily ever after and have many many many grandbabies! heart ... What? I have my right to fantasize, don't I? gonk

I simply dislike the idea of them being together. Just the fact it's so...obvious makes it all the more annoying.
Harry and Ginny relationship was based solely on-let's face it, snogging, snogging, and more snogging. Sort of makes you want to chuck the entire book out the window and read some smutty H/Hr fics biggrin Anyway, Harry/Ginny is done with and we can clearly see that Harry is waking up from his dreams filled with the monster in his pan- I mean chest. smile
I'm one of those oddballs that think Ron/Hermione just got closer as friends, not as a pair. IMO, Ron and Hermione are able to talk on the same wavelength. After Ron's near death experience (foreshadowing anything in HP7 anyone? stare ) he doesn't have the emotional range of a teaspoon anymore. Hermione needs to drag Harry in a broom closet and go ahead and snog him already because the tension's killing me lol
Back on topic though. Annoyed by R/Hr and H/G, doubting it'll happen in HP7, and living on fluff! H/Hr fics until July 7. cool

yeah, i agree. i hate harry/ginny, and i dont see how the heck rowling is gonna get them back together, since they broke up at the end of book six. i think ginny still likes harry (although i hate her), but harry isn't sure, and needs time. and about ron/hermione...people say it's obvious, but i think it's too good to be true, for them i mean. or for ron. he likes hermione soo much, it's so easy to tell in the books, and hermione is always smart talking him back. i think she COULD be showing off for harry...but i dunno. at the end of the sixth book, they were holding hands or doing SOMETHING, im not sure what, but i really dont want them to happen. i think ginny/harry and ron/hermione need to mesh, and the only way for that to happen is if harry gets together with hemione.

Honestly. I just don't like the chemistry emmited by R/Hr or H/G I mean. It just seems so shallow. Which is why I see that a lot of older people (20s-40s) ship H/Hr. For them they've seen a lot of heartbreak based on sex, tension, and bickering. And I think after all those experiences.
They get that those things just don't work for a relationship. I mean I really do hope that JKR bases her relationship off H/Hr, which is what I would assume she's trying to reach. Because if her life is similar to the R/Hr-esque. I'd really hate to see what it would seem like when they're married.
Oh. And to all those R/Hr people who think that they act like a married old couple. They're wrong. There's something missing from their current relationship that would. Married Old Couples make up after they have a spat. They don't continue to fight. They eventually reconsole what they've done and get back together.
I don't see that in R/Hr unless it's Ron taking advantage of Hermione's brain by checking his homework. Don't get me wrong. Ron is cool, I love Ron. He's smart, somewhat charming. However Ron+Hermione=Destructive Relationship.

To me the whole H/G thing was well...random!I mean come on Harry running up to some girl and just kissing her?Especially when that one girl is his friend's sister?!?That's not the Harry we all know.The only thing I can conclude about this couple is that JKR just put Ginny with Harry because she was the first person to actually like him.I re-read the book and that's the only thing I see that could have lead up to this and if you ask me that one thing is just not enough to base a couple off of.Harry and Hermione however have shared of many moments in the books.Plus if Harry and Ginny get together Harry will most likely realize that he didn't know Ginny that well and she has a lot of qualities he dosn't like.Ginny also seems like the type that would get intrested in another guy while she was dating.Now I'll move on to R/Hr.Ok so this couple knows each other better than the last one and has had a few of their moments but lets face it they just don't mix.It seems like Ron will be the type who just uses Hermione when he sees another girl he likes like he did with Lavender.Hopefully all of this leads up to a big H/Hr moment where the two couples could not get along and have their brake-up senes then Harry and Hermione realize their love for eachother and start going out.

I'm okay with Ron/Hermione, but Ginny/Harry is perhaps my least favorite ship ever thought up. It's just so...out of nowhere! I have a HUGE list on why it doesn't work, but I don't want to be here untill Christmas typing it out.
