(W00t! First post! Lol)
A large, crimson shape popped from between high above the Weyr, then began a lazy but fast spiral down to the ground. Backwinging neatly, Piroth landed with only a slight heavy-footedness near the lake and let her rider climb off.
"I'll just strip these off and then you and I can go bathe, hm?"
Never one to be concerned with theieves- this was a Weyr, after all, so her items woul dbe returned eventually- Necia began stripping packs and other items from her dragon and setting them to the side where they could be watched from the lake, if necessary. Once the saddle was gone, Piroth lowered her head and let Necia strip the harness as well.
"Done!"
With that, Piroth cheerfully trotted off to the lake, easing herself into the water so as not to create massive waves that swamped the other dragons and riders there. Chuckling, the little red-headed rider followed suit, stripping down to the bare essentials and running to the water.
The feel of the cold liquid as it slid against her skin was bliss after the oppressively hot temperatures sustained in riding leathers in the warm weather. Breaking the surface for air, Neci grinned at Piroth, who was just relaxing in the deeper water and cooling down. The Scarlet's bliss was clear from the way her lids were half-closed and her head drooped so that everything from the lower half of her muzzle down was covered by water.
Feeling less irritable, Piri?
I do feel much better, Neciamine, Piroth agreed, whirling blue-and-green eyes focusing on her rider as the woman swam out to relax with her dragon. The heat was making me cranky, but the sight of the lake has put me in a better mood.
I'm glad to hear it, love. I'm very glad to hear it. Necia's words were accented by a mental chuckle, but not even though could shake Piroth from the lazy feeling the water inspired in her.

Another Scarlet and her rider seemed to have the same idea. Waverly and Trementh had decided earlier that day that they would take a dip in the lake once it grew hot. So Wave had stripped down in her weyr, taking only her two piece swim suit and a towel and then got up on Trementh's unsaddled back. The two took off fro the ledge and didn't even bother to land before entering the water. Wave was thrown from Trementh's back as the Scarlet hit the water, but the rider managed to turn it into a graceful dive. When she surfaced, she waved at Necia. "Hey! Seems like we had the same idea, eh?" she asked, swimming closer to her fellow Scarlet rider.

Necia raised an eyebrow, but quirked her lips in a smile. The antics of the dragon and rider pair bordered on show-off, but considering the day's heat- which was making her feel oddly sluggish- and the friendly attitude, the redhead decided to overlook that.
"Apparently!" She called back. "It's so hot lately that a dip in the water seems to be an idea that would be best done constantly; half the time I don't even want to get out!"
With an arm around Piroth's neck, Neci only had to slightly tread water to stay afloat as she continued speaking to her fellow Scarlet rider.
"I'm afraid we've never been introduced, despite being kindred spirits. I'm Vanecia, and this is Piroth." As her rider gestured at her, Piroth opened both lids fully on the eye turned towards Waverly and Trementh, rumbling a greeting, although she didn't otherwise move.

Wave nodded. "It does get quite steamy. Its just been so bad lately that I have considered going to the beach, despite the fact me and the sea don't get along." She tred water slightly to keep afloat, squinting to protect her blazing brown eyes from the sun. She nodded. "Yeah, we haven;t really met before. I'm Waverly, often just Wave. And this is Trementh." she said, pointing to the dragon who was now under the water, the first set of lids closed over her whirling eyes to protect them.

Necia chuckled. "Pleasure to meet you both, Wave and Trementh. So, what do you folks mostly do around here? Sweep- and Wingrider?"
Deciding she was tired of treading water, the woman motioned towards the shallows and let go of Piroth's neck.
"Let's head to some shallower water that we can sit up to our necks in without wasting our energy trying to stay afloat, shall we?" She offered, even as she began swimming backwards towards shore.

Wave nodded. "Yeah, that's pretty much it, though occasionally we get to have a rare Search." she told Necia. Nodding at the other rider's suggestion, Wave followed. It really was just a waste of energy to just try and float, not when they could sit in the shallows. "Hey, you're friends with the Jr. Weyrwoman, aren't you? Rumor has it that her Regalth's Flight will be soon." she said, just about as curious as everyone else.

Necia resisted a sigh and chuckled instead. "Your guess is as good as mine. Yes, Kai and I are good friends, but even she isn't sure when Regalth is going to Fly. Still, it's been three Turns, so the time is coming that she'll have to rise, whether or not her rider or anyone else is ready!"
Setting her feet on the bottom, she began walking the rest of the way to a good place to sit and still be mostly covered by water.
"I suppose you ask because, like everyone else, you've grown curious about what a Prism's Flight is going to be like and how many eggs the Clutch will herald?" She asked, turning around to face Wave and walking backwards.

Following the shorter woman, Wave nodded, flicking her wet curls from her eyes. "Yes. No Prism has ever lived so long. So pretty much everything about Regalth is a mystery. No one's ever seen a Prism's clutch, so who know how that will go or if there will be any oddities." she said, finding a good spot to settle herself in the water while Trementh relaxed. "Everyone's bound to be curious, right?"

"My guess is that because she herself is a mutation, that her Clutch will have at least a few mutation dragons in with the normal ones. No guarantees, but I'm assuming that much." Necia fell silent for a moment as she sat down about a step away, but facing Wave. "Still, like I said, we'll have to wait and find out. Although it shouldn't be too long; I can't think of a single queen-level dragon who went more than three and a half years before she had her First Flight."

She nodded, thinking. It was obvious Regalth was going to fly soon, though. The other males were getting antsy. "There may be more than a few mutations, since Regalth is one herself. Though I suppose that doesn't mean anything since there were so many mutations in the old queen's clutch three turns ago." she said, looking down at the water as it swirled around her.

"True. We'll just have to wait and see. There isn't anything that any of us can do but hope for a large, healthy Clutch." Necia grinned and looked over at the two Scarlets. "And pray that Impressing mutation and normal-colored dragons alike will make some Candidates very happy people. To change the subject, how long have you and Trementh been together? Have a weyrmate yet?"

Ashke finished scrubbing Myth down and hopped down off of his back into the water, rolling her eyes in the process. Myth had been carefully studying the two scarlets since they had arrived woth something of a preditory gleam in his eye.
You're wicked! Ashke scolded, thumping him on the leg to send him into deeper waters to rise himself off.
Not yet. Was Myth's blithe reply, almost smirking at Ashke as he moved off.
Rolling her eyes seemed to be a habit for Ashke whenever she was talking to Myth, and she did it yet again before trudging up to the bank. Dropping the last of the bag of softsands nto the bank, Ashke stripped off her pants before wading out into the water again for a swim, thinking over her orange-blue partner. While true that he hadn't actually flown anyone yet, that didn't mean that he hadn't tried. He seemed to think himself something of a ladies man.

(He needs a good green with a male rider for Ashke to mate with. XD)
Necia looked over as the large Orange-Blue dragon floated over to them almost as if he wasn't propelled- a rather strange sight, really. Piroth noticed the familiar presence and called a greeting, both physically and mentally, making it known that he was welcome in the group.
Turning her attention to the rider, Necia smiled as she remembered Ashke. She never had asked the girl if she liked just men or not; a decent question consider her dragon's coloring. The woman seemed lost in thought, but since Wave hadn't replied yet, and just in case Ashke wanted to join in on the conversation...
"Hello, Ashke!" Necia called over, beckoning with a hand. "Join us?"

(Doesn't have to be male. *shrug*)
Wave shook her head. "No, no weyrmate for me. I suppose the right person just hasn't flown Trementh yet." she said with a shrug. As the large Orange-Blue floated over, she switched her eyes to him. Well, he was new. A transfer? They were rare, or at least the mutations were. Hearing Necia call out to the rider, Wave nodded. It was nice to meet new people. So her name was Ashke, then wasn't it? She looked over to Trementh, but she was watching the Orange-Blue. She seemed to find him curious.
