Domini Vida's office unique in one main respect...okay, two. One, it's two floors. And two, it's tear shaped. The door was kidnapped from an old muggle church that wasgoing to be torn down. And inside has silks everywhere. Incense, candles, warm colors. It's all very indian and egyptian mixed. Many different cultures are mixed. On the second floor is her bedroom. Her bed is a black swan with red satin bedding and black velvet curtains. Along one wall are three floor-to-ceiling bookshelves packed with every type of book imaginable. And in the far corner is a three door black walnut wardrobe and a screen behind which to change.

Domini opened the door to her office, sliding the wrought iron latch across. She shed the heavy school robes and dropped them on a chair near the door sighing, she spun around, her hair floating behind her. In doing so, her arm caught a hanging silk and she lost her balance, toppling to the ground. She stood back up quickly, looking down at the mass of silks. "Bloody hell." She muttered, and began the laborous task of replacing them.

Draco, still on cloud nine, danced down the corridor and knocked on Domini's office door. Maybe he could disguise this visit as a heart to heart chat (the only problem with this idea was that Domini was not, in fact, criminally stupid). He hoped she would be there; she and Kiri had looked like they had something up their sleeve earlier. He heard a loud thump. "Domini, are you all right?" he called through the door. If she's just hurt herself, I have to go get Alair.

The knock on the door startled Domini and she snagged herself once again, toppling over and taking a pile of silks with her. She swore and untangled herself. "Hang on a second." She answered to the person at the door. Sighing, she shook the last from around her feet and walked to the door and slid the latch back across, swinging it back on its oiled hinges. "Oh, Draco." He doesn't usually visit my office, she thought absentmindedly. "You look...very happy. And I'm fine."

"I am very happy. Good, good, I was worried that you'd half killed yourself." He smiled mildly. "Mind if I come in?" Well, this isn't beyond suspicious. He noted the fallen silk. "D'you, er, want help with that?" Draco said, restraining himself from hugging her and shrieking at the top of his lungs that he was free. Had she slipped and fallen on the —he hesitated here as there seemed no practical purpose for them— curtains?

Dom shook her head. "I may be a klutz, but not that much of one. Come on in." She turned and and gathered the scarves and pieces of silk, placing them on the same chair as her school robes. "No, no. I'll put them back up later. I don't feel like doing it now." She smiled and plopped down on a plush armchair.

He nodded absently, strolling over to look at the bookshelves. "How have you been? We haven't really talked in—" Ten years since the time I kissed you on a staircase. "—ages. But I needed someone to talk to and I thought of you." He took a book off the shelves and opened it. "Have you read all of them or are they mostly decor?"

Dom shrugged. "I've been alright. And you're right, it has been ages since we've actually talked, other than various passing conversations over the years." She looked at the bookshelves. "I've read most of them. There is one that I'm in the middle of. Though a few are just decor."

Draco shut the book he was holding. Herbology bored him near to tears if he let it. "Small talk does not count, Miss Vida. What've you been doing lately? Students driving you mad? Hectic love life?" He smiled genteelly. He did not tell her that he had nearly hexed a student that morning because he doubted that was the sort of thing she wanted to hear. Hell, she probably enjoyed this job. Draco shuddered involuntarily at the idea. Children were a menace to society and most of the ones at Hogwarts should have been put down for their own sakes. He let his face turn melancholy and thoughtful, hoping she might comment on it so he could tearfully divulge his break with Alair —in a manner that flattered him, of course.

Domini shrugged. "Of course students are driving me mad. Damn first years keep getting tangled in my rosebushes. Everyone above that, luckily, has already done it once and doesn't do it again. They won't even go near La Rosa de Sangre." She chuckled. "What love life? I have no love life. I have no life to speak of. Most of my free hours are spent shut up in here reading or tending to my roses." She looked at his face and frowned. "I've not known you to change moods so quickly, Draco."

He stared at his hands. "It's been a very trying day, Domini, and I don't mean first years having their hands taken off by La Rosa." No love life? Hold onto your lacy knickers, darling. "Alair and I, well—" Draco bit his lip. He did not, as such, feel bad about what he had done but about the way he knew that Alair would have taken it. "We had a falling out."

Domini frowned. She would have gotten up and hugged him, but that would have been rather awkward. Instead, she stood and walked to him, draggin him over to the chair near hers. "Sit." She commanded and pushed him down into the chair. After doing so herself, she looked at him, in a very professor-like manner. "Now, explain."

Draco shrugged. "There's not much to explain. I haven't been sleeping well so Alair gave me something to let me sleep. It's just a recurring nightmare and, well, it occurred to me that I'm probably not the best thing that's ever happened to Alair and possibly the worst. I decided we should take a break and I don't think he was too pleased with the idea. Alair doesn't like change." And that might as well be the truth.

Domini shook her head, sighing slightly. "You see, this is why I prefer not to get all mixed up in a love life. Because, evantually, it comes to a screeching halt. And I just don't think I could deal with my heart being broken into a million pieces." She smiled and placed a hand over her heart. "I'm very sensitive, you know."

"It's been too long since I haven't had one. I can't actually remember what it's like to be glorious single." He rolled his eyes. "You don't have to let your heart be shattered. Sometimes, the end of a relationship is more pleasure than agonizing heart-breaking misery." And I sound completely heartless. "You're far more sensitive than I am." He laughed softly. "Look, the whole business comes down to one thing: I like girls. I don't know how to tell him that."
