Okay, so I want to make something simple and Lolita...but this will be the first thing I've done on my sewing machine besides making lacy pillows... So, I was just curious if anyone could give me ideas for something simple yet elegant for my first try. It would be greatly appreciated. Oh, by the way, a pattern or directions would help me too if it isn't too much trouble. Thank you so much!

I don't know how to sew (yet), but I suggest that you pick up a simple, non-lolita pattern that you could add some frills to make it lolita-ish. Like a bottoned blouse, for example.

You could get a simple skirt and sew some material that's see through at the end of the skirt. ^O^ That's what I did today for the first time and it worked out alright. I'm not sure if it could fall under Lolita, but I think it's rather easy to start off.
