When I'm at my boarding school I relate so well to the series. And my friends there see why too. Actually...it's kinda depressing how my friends and are all the characters mixed together. I personally end up being a combination of Mayama and Hagu, which is not the prettiest combination I must say.
So does anyone else relate to the series in such a similar way as I do?

I relate to the show not so much in that I see myself as being like one of the character, but in that I have been in Takemoto's shoes before. After 9/11, when I lost a very lucrative job due to downsizing, I really didn't know what I was going to do with the rest of my life and was somewhat uncertain as to where I fit into things. It wasn't til I took some time to do other things and get my head on straight that I was able to get back into the swing of things and get my life back under way.

I think that's the point of series' like Honey and Clover. A small taste of life, something to relate to, unlike some other series' where you can't relate at all (something like... Evangelion, because really, who can relate with that?). Even Haruhi isn't as relateable, because it's extraordinary. Honey and Clover is just everyday life.
I personally have related with Takemoto. I don't know where I'm headed in life (I have many interests, but not one thing that I want to do for the rest of my life), and I don't know what to do. Also, at the end of episode 2, when Morita gives Hagu the shoes, and proceeds to fall asleep, and then Takemoto has to drag him back, I've felt like that. Takemoto asks himself why it hurts. It's his love and affection for Hagu, being overshadowed by someone else's. And I've definitely felt like that. Feeling such strong love, yet the other makes the person you love so happy... Like my crush and his girlfriend. His girlfriend is one of my friends (although not Morita-like), and I feel jealousy towards her, but it just...hurts.
The series is so relateable.

I could very much relate to how Takemoto was feeling. I've felt like that on many occasions. Plus I've been tempted many times to do the whole journey thing. But it's just too difficult to just drop everything and go in search of yourself.

I can relate to it. I feel that sometimes I lack genius even though I may have some skill as an artist ^^:. Where as many of my friends definetly posess that factor that seperates skill from genius.

8__shiro__8 I don't get this thread seriously. What is there not to get? It's fairly simple...It's just asking if anyone relates to this series with their lives.

Oh man....I relate to almost everybody. Maybe not Ayu....but pretty much everyone else. I've felt lost like Takemoto and I've had social retardation issues like Hagu and I actually did have to repeat a class once because I slept through it, like Morita. I feeeeeeel your paaaaaain!~ crying

our organization's adviser who's also my friend's chemistry teacher always call me, HAGU-chan...maybe because i'm small for a college student. And i'm experiencing same conflict with the real hagu-chan. confused

I relate to almost every one besides Professor Hanamoto, Rika, and Mayama. sweatdrop I am out of all of them most like Morita... thats not a good thing though is it..... sweatdrop
