< /um, excuse me?/3Princess Sweatsuit. ...WTF? Today, while I was in the car, I was scanning through music channels. I heard a classical song, stopped, and listened to it. The next time I pressed the scan button, a hip hop song came on.
That got me thinking (which is bad).
What if Princess Tutu was, instead of ballet, about hip hop? Would that make it Princess Sweatsuit? What would happen to the characters? The setting? The speech? The music?
What do you think about this...nonsense that I'm blabbing about?

xd Wow. This is something I haven't thought of before.
Well, if this were a hip-hop centered anime, then the entire setting would probably have to be changed to something more modern. One of the things that attracted me to PT was the classical, faerie tale feel of the show. With that gone, I wouldn't like it as much.

I completely agree with you. The setting would probably be somewhere in a big city--like New York, or something.
I definately wouldn't watch it, either--the classical music and ballet was what drew me into Princess Tutu.
Though I do think it would be funny to see Gangsta!Fakir and Pimp!Mythos.

I can see it now...
Princess Sweatsuit
Ahiru, an oddly named sewer rat, lives a regular life scouring the gutters for food each day in the slums of New York City. Then one day, she happens to see Mytho (or M-Dawg), the drug-lord and amnesia-ridden (shot in the head during a shoot-out) tragic leader of a small-time street gang. She falls in love and accepts a creepy-yet-mysterious bum's offer to become "Princess Sweatsuit" (using a magical boom-box), the scantily-clad break-dancer extraordinaire, and agrees to travel the city and search for tight 'tunes that'll restore her beloved gang leader's memory.
However, she has to watch out for enemies from Mytho's rival gang, the Ravens, including the Drug-King himself and his breakdancing daughter Rue. Not to mention Mytho's gangsta buddy/bodyguard Fakir! Can Princess Sweatsuit track down those songs and return her love's memories, using only her mad beat-boxing and dance skillz, without getting stoned or shot-up in the process?! Stay tuned...!!!
