Has alone have any motivational tips??
I know what I want to do, I know how, I just don't get up off my arse to go and do it (as you can tell by my fitness progress post)
I really want to do this, but the only reason I can think of as to why I'm not getting too into it is because everything has always been handed to me really easy (sporting and academically) - which I'm starting to have to work for it now. Now I know for certain that if I don't train, I will be thrashed in the competition I'm entering, yet I still have the state of mind of "it will be fine".
any tips of how to get out of that and start moving more??

Yeah, this is definitely one of my problems as well.
My guess is to set goals, or have someone set goals for you. I just wish I had some idea of what goals to set... sweatdrop

Watch 'Honey, We're Killing the Kid's' and 'Super Size Me'. That will get you motivated. Also, don't work out alone. Have someone do it with you.

If you see a person with a body you want, maybe save the pic or think about it or something. *shrugs*

i write it down on post its and put it in front of every mirror in the house.. things like: "ok, youve seen yourself, now go work out!" or "work out time! stop reading and go!" odd but it works.. oh and also i have an alarm on my stop watch that tells me that its time to go for a run.

Find a training partner if you can. Nothing gets you training like a friend calling to ask you to go to the gym as you don't want to let them down.
I find that works for me as it means I'd have to make excuses if I just didn't want to go so I end up going.

^ yes, that sounds like a good thing to do...especially the part about not wanting to let the other person down.

I tell people. Even if they aren't training with me, it helps me out when people ask me "Did you go running this morning?" "Was that you I saw when I was driving?" For some reason, it really drives me to keep going.

Knowing that I'm going to the beach in 7.5 weeks keeps me pretty motivated gonk My boyfriend says I'm a little too motivated sometimes... because I have a tendancy to binge exercise a lot. >>;;

I keep pictures fo obscenely obese people in the refrigerator and wherever food is.
I trick myself while running, first I do double of what calories I ate before, then go to the next mile, depending on how many I did, then keep going more and more, and pretty soon I've done close to 1000 calories. doing this about three times a day.
I Keep pictures of ideal body's and my goals around places where I tend to be lazy.
