"History repeats itself."
What period of history do you thing bets represents our current geopolitical situation, and what conclusions do you think can be taken from there?
I could see us being in the years just before the Roman Empire conquered Greece, and then the rest of the Mediteranian, with the U.S.A. being the Romans, th Greek city states represented by the E.U., and the rest of the world being the countries around the Mediterranian, with the former U.R.S.S. being the celtic tribes, the Japanese being the Saxons, and the Islamic countries being the Goths that destroyed the Empire.

Sadly, we never learn about the history of the world. Seriously...all that crap about "not needing to know things like history after school years" is a bunch of crap. Sure, you might not need to know about it to function daily, but then again, you need to know little to live day to day lives. Most people probably couldn't even point out colorado on a map, nonetheless tell you the great histories behind the Roman empire.
I believe your right about the present state we are in. Interesting thought, and I shall get back to you on my own answer. right now, it's late and I need to watch Alias and go to bed.
