It had been weeks since the birthing. Adia's pups were now named, and their eyes and ears were opening.

The female padded to the water, leading the small pups. Sniffing the air, she discerned no threats, then looked over her shoulder and gave a small yipping sound, calling the pups out.

The white, Kasida, came first. Among the pups she was the brightest, and easiest to see. The small pup pricked her ears and yipped quietly in curiousity.

Their first trip down to the water! Ticdat bounced happily after her sister and mother, pausing to sniff the air like her mother. Blinking her great blue eyes, she looked about before turning and yipping at her brothers to hurry.

Near by, Raka watched, mindful of stragglers. He was proud of his pups, if a bit worried. One had turned out to be rather... Blind. Staying close, he kept his eyes on each pup in turn.

The pup had grown used to rocks in the scenery, but still stopped to investigate any particularly odd ones, like different shape, very smooth, small and big. Yet, today, he was more interested in something different, this so called 'water'. He was young, so untill now, he drank milk, and didn't know of water yet.

The oldest and perhaps largest of the litter hurried over, almost crashing into his sisters in the process. Kutu was the pup that most resembled his mother, yet his brilliant green eyes appeared qite unique in the litter. Where there going to be rocks, too?

Adia chuckled, watching her litter as they gamboled. Kasida blinked, pawing slightly at Kutu. Was he looking at rocks again? Both ears pricked curiously as she wondered, watching Ticdat as well. Of the litter, she was....

Different to say the least. All white, she looked like someone dribbled mud on her a little. Her eyes flicked back and forth before her mother parted the bushes, revealing the watering hole. Kasida's ears perked, and she risked darting ahead, Adia following after ensuring a clear route. Kasida promptly stuck her nose in, and took a big sniff--only to find water up the nose wasn't pleasant. She fell backwards, snorting madly to get the water out. Adia smiled affectionately.

"First lesson, childen. Respect the water. It can give you life, and bring you death at the same time if you try to breath it."

Kasida, nose clear, pawed the water a bit.

Rolling over, peals of laughter escaped Ticdat at her sister. As she composed herself, she went over, pawing at the water. "It's all wet!" A new burst of giggles escaped as she delighted in it.

Ruka scurried after the sound of his siblings. He was the smallest of the litter, but that didn't stop him from trying his best to keep up. He was beginning to like this "water" concept. He could hear his siblings and mother perfectly as the began splashing through it; it made it easier for him to follow, a lot easier. What he couldn't he was the line where the dirt became water, and what the water would feel like. The momment his paw made contact Ruka yelped and jumped back. It was cold and clung to his fur. He didn't want to go back in, but his other siblings were going, so he scrunched up his face and pressed on into the liquidy substance.

The pup waddled into the water, and as the shallows weren't shallow no more, instinct pulled over and he started to paddle frantically after sinking a few times. Keeping his head over the water as he'd managed to hear his mothers news about not breathing it.

He managed to go back to the shallows again, thrashing aorund in the water contently now that he had footing. "Its so funny! " He exclaimed, before ducking under it to see how it looked, only to find it also bugged his eyes, and closing them.

Adia laughed, keeping a mindful eye on Ruka as she padded into the water.

"Don't go out too far yet, Ruka."

She set in the wet, smiling.

"When you are weaned," Adia began. "You will drink water to help survive. It's so easy, just cup it in your tounge." Adia stooped then, to show by example as she lapped a little bit at it.

Kasida blinked at Ticdat, however, and pawed at her. She wasn't being nice!
