A friend of mine had a thread like this going on in the original Harry Potter forum but it bombed out. I thought it was a great idea so I decided to try it out here.

Basically, you read what's been posted and add to it if you want.

You should post a minimum of two lines and please don't ruin it i.e submiting "Then Harry died and Voldemort ruled the world. The end." Also, please, no random slashing. It's alright if the story looks like it might be going that way and you push it along but if Ron and Harry are acting like normal or even fighting and you post "Then Ron pushed Harry up against a tree and stuck his tongue down his throat..." it will just irritate the people who are trying to make a good story.

That is all I ask. Please have fun and contribute all you want! 3nodding

Hermione hurried through he castle's corridors, cloaked in stolen invisibility. Her hair was in bushy spurts and knots about her head and she still wore her warm blue pajamas. Her only other cover was the cloak; her feets were bare, the better to sneak around.

She finally approached the library, letting out a breath of relief that she hadn't come across anyone along the way. As if on cue, Hermione heard a sound to her right from around the corner.

Hermione's breath caught in her throat as she turned to see who is was.

To her relief, it was Harry and Ron, both in their pajamas as well.

"Do you know how hard it was for us to sneak down here without Harry's cloak? Lucky we still had the Marauder's Map, " whispered Ron.

"I'm sorry", Hermione replied in a panicy whisper, "but it was an emergency."

All three looked serious and ghostly pale, the shreaking silence in the air as they all paused thinking about what was to come. Harry finally spoke, "Then I guess you're here for the same reason as we are..."

"Research..." whispered Hermione, taking off the cloak. "On the deaths."

Ron and Harry nodded and the three of them made their way into the library.

"Morrick.......Morrick........." murmured Harry and his finger explored the books' spines. Hermione and Ron were in the next ailes, searching the Modern Magical Discoveries and Ancient Magic sections.

There were deaths all over Britain in the wizarding and even muggle communities. The source of the deaths was rumored to be a pack of vicious chimaers on the hunt. Thing was, chimaeras were always under close survalence by the Ministry of Magic because of their infamous deadly appitites. That meant that someone must have had a herd of chimaeras without the Ministry's knowing and they got loose [or they let them loose].

The staff have been constantly talking about it with eachother. One day while under the invisibility cloak, the three had overheard a conversation between Professor McGonagall and Hagrid.

"Do you really think that he could be behind it, Rubeus?" asked McGonagall with a hushed voice. "He is a very respected man."

"Professor, there were witnesses!" said Hagrid in a low voice, though his voice boomed anyway. "The neighbors said that they always heard growling at his place. He was always getting enough meat in the marketplace to feed an army. All signs point to Morrick, simple as that."

Professor McGonagall had frowed at that, apparently she used to be good aquaintences with the mysterious Morrick and just couldn't believe he would be capable of such illegal practices.

Now, Harry, Ron and Hermione were trying to get more information. They couldn't search during the day because it would make Madame Pince suspicious. Now, as he hunted through the shelves, Harry couldn't help but wish for sunlight to see. The library was dreadfully dark.

"I think I found something!" said Ron. Harry hurried to where Ron was standing. He was running his finger down the page, eye searching. "Yes, here it is!"

They all leaned over to read.

The book read: "Alexander Morrick, one of the most highly notorious Death Eaters that has ever served He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. Although being a wizard, Morrick does not resort to maigc in order to kill or cause great pain. Instead he uses his own concoctions of Potions and poisons. His most infamous massacre was the one which happened 15 years ago at Ravenclaw's Pass, a small wizarding village on the east of London. A shocking total of 50 wizards were poisoned to death on the night of June 5th. After the fall of You-Know-Who, Morrick was captured and sent to imprisonment for life."
Ron quickly closed the book as he heard footsteps coming in their direction.
'Someone's coming!' he said with a slight panic in his voice.

"Quick! Everyone under the cloak!" whispered Hermoine hoarsely.
Harry struggled to read the Marauder's Map in the darkness, but as he squinted his eyes became more adjusted to the darkness. He saw the Library on the map, and noticed a name approaching. He could almost read it when something sent all three of them crashing to the floor....

They were all trying to get their bearings when someone rushed toward them and tore the cloak off. "I hope no one heard that! Are you all all right?" It was Neville Longbottom.
"Neville! What are you doing here?" yelled Ron, who was immediately smacked for being so loud.
"I'm sorry! I was doing a favor for Fred and George. They wanted to know if the Exploding Gumballs of theirs glowed in the dark, and they said if I tested it they would give me ten for free!"
"Oh Neville," moaned Hermoine, "you could have given us all away!"
"Um, I think he has." said Harry. "Filtch is headed this way, and he's not taking his time!"
"Right, fine." Hermoine whispered. "Everyone under the cloak, and we'll talk this out in the common room."
Little did they know that all that time, someone had overheard their conversation and was planning a meeting of their own.

Draco Malfoy ran as fast as he could down the hallway towards his dungeon common room. He had to tell Crabe and Goyle about this. The stupid mudblood and her friends had caught on to his dear family friend, Morrick's, little secret. Oh they would get them back for this,
He was just at the staircase leading to the dungeons when he felt something heavy collide with his head......

'Whew, thank goodness for you Bashing Spell Hermione' Harry whispered under the cloak.
'One way or another the ugly git was destined for one anyway' Ron said as he dragged Malfroys unconcious body under the cloak.
'What are we going to do with him now? He's bound to tell Snape when he wakes up' Ron added.
'Not unless he never heard what we said...' said Hermione with a grin.
'What are you going to do? Use a Memory Charm on him?' Ron replied sarcastically.
Hermione continued to grin.
'Don't tell me you actually learned how to use a Memory Charm?!' proclaimed the red headed boy.
'Quiet! Something's moving over there' Harry said while pointing in to a dark corridor.

Suddenly Draco could see him. Alexander Morrick. He was Standing over a cauldron in a firelit room, reading what seemed to be ingredients out of an old, handwritten, leatherback journal. Draco tried to call out, but his voice wouldnt make a sound.

Morrick's eye twitched as he lay his finger near the bottom of the page - the last ingredient. Slowly, he knelt by a knapsack near the foot of the table and took something out. Draco was unable to see what it was. He made to move closer. However, by the time he was at a sufficent distance, Morrick had already shaken his head and added the ingredient. As Morrick stirred, the thick, grey liquid began to swirl emerald green. A mist began to form near the surface. As the last bit of grey in the potion disappeared, the mist thickened into a rising, green, opaque smoke. It began to dance and shift until it finally took a form. Draco was unable to recognise it. It had the body of a cloaked human, but It's head was... something else. Something unfamillar to Draco.

Morrick began to speak, but Draco couldnt hear. Just then Draco came to the realization that throughout the entire duration of this encounter with Morrick, he had been unable to hear at all. Draco noticed a soft heat on his arm. When he touched it, it intensified to a burn. He removed his hand and looked. Nothing.

His vision began to blur. He turned his attention back to Morrick, but he could hardly make out his outline now. As his vision continued to fade, Morrick was getting farther and father away...

When Draco regained consiousness he was in the hospital wing.

Unfortunately for him, no one was waiting for Draco to wake up. He had the strange feeling that he had found out somthing incredibly important, but he couldn't quite remember what it was. After the nurse discharged him, he shuffled back to the Slitherin common room to sort things out.

Meanwhile, Harry, Ron, and Hermoine were discussing their recent adventure on the way to see Hagarid.
"Lucky we didn't get caught be Snape the other night!" exclaimed Ron.
"I would have liked to see what he would have done if he caught us," said Harry. "Why do you suppose he was lurking around at the same time we were?"
"It was no coincedence," Hermoine explained. "Put the pieces together. Draco followed us to the Library just to find out what we were up to and get us in trouble AGAIN. Snape obviously gave him permission to do that. Malfoy was probably going to check in when we bashed in his skull."
Harry was suspicious. "But I wonder, was it just Malfoy sneaking around as usual, or did he know what we were looking for and want to stop us before we found it?"
Just then, the group reached Hagrid's, and saw the strangest sight through his little window........

Morrick was sitting, bound and gagged, in a chair in Hagrid's kitchen. Fang was growling at him all the while, and he was growling back at Fang. Hagrid had a furious look on his face, and was yelling at Morrick, and from what they could hear, he was accusing him of the murder. They all looked at each other suspiciously, for Morrick, despite his animalistic actions, did not seem like the kind that would murder someone. But was he involved with the chimaeras? "Hem, hem!" A voice, clearing its throat, was coming from directly behind them. They all cringed, knowing what this meant....

They had been deceived!

Since Hermoine had found out about Alexander Morrick from one of the books in the Library, she knew that some very important people would be looking for him, and not with any good intentions. So, she had gone to Hagrid knowing full well his loathing for Morrick and asked if he would let her curse his home so that people with the intention to find Morrick would find him, bound and gagged in Hagrid's kitchen. Luckily the curse worked on Harry and Ron; Hermoine hadn't told them because she wanted to see if the curse was believable.
But once she explained the whole situation to Harry and Ron, they weren't at all happy with her.

"You could have filled us in on this!"
"How could you have kept this a secret from us?!"
"Well, there's nothing you can do about it now. Are you willing to help me now? This is a very dire situation, and I Hagrid and I can't handle it by ourselves." Both boys nodded solemnly. "Ok, good." said Hermoine, pacing back and forth thoughtfully. "So, here's the deal. As you already know, we are not the only ones looking for Morrick. But what you don't know is who else is looking for him and who actually knows where he is. From what Hagrid has heard from his sources in the Leaky Caouldron and my research, we should find Morrick where we least expect him. In fact, I have it on very good authority that he might already be here at Hogworts.
"WHAT??" Ron shouted. "He's dangerous, right? Why on earth would Dubledore bring him here?
"Because Dumbledore knows how importnat he is in the fight against Voldemort. He's a major player, and could help us find new weapons to use against Voldemort."

During this whole conversation, Harry and Ron had been so focused on what Hermoine was saying that they didn't even notice Hagrid slip out the door and into the Dark Forest. They also failed to notice the creature that slipped inside Hagrid's hut when he closed the door, the creature that was creeping up behind Hermoine, fangs dripping with poison...

Suddenly, Harry shouted, " Hermione look out!" He shoved her out of the way but now the creature with those dreadful fangs had a clear aim at Ron. Harry tried to get but he doesn't think he can make it. In the knick (not sure i spelt that rite) of time Hagrid hit the creature with an enormous logs. " What do you think yu kids are doing all alone at a time like this." Harry said, " Hagrid, what do you mean- a time like this???"
