I do not know why, but everyone i talk to seems to hate or have beaf on Raiden, I Truely beleive hes a cool character! Ok once playing MGS 2 you were expecting Snake, but heh, this is Raidens First mission, he uses the sword, he does a crazy combo, and andand he does a wicked runnign flip, i wanna know how you guys feel about Raiden in MGs 2 and in General.

I dont really care about Raiden Because a metal gear is a metal gear. But i think most people hate him because hes not snake.

I know why a lot of people don't like Raiden, but I don't agree with them. I think the main reasons were, as Drazooku said, he's not Snake, a lot of people find him too inexperienced, and also because of Rose.
I quite enjoyed playing as raiden though, although it was a shame not to play as Snake.
The best reason I've heard someone give for others not liking Raiden is that they're sexually insecure and are afraid to play as a character who isn't all "badass" and doesn't smoke. biggrin

I could, however, deal with that if Rose could just shut up and let him get on with the job! scream

I hate Raiden because his long blond hair sticks out to much wich gets me caught and he talks like if he wanted a lolipop from his mom.

I don't have a problem with Raiden. it was very interesting to play with him, in fact I slightly prefered him in the Big Shell. Having a new character with a new story behind him was refreshing, and it was fun. I didn't mind having two playable characters. I loved it actually.
Plus the bickering with Rosemary was just hilarious xd
And you know, the whammy is that Raiden probably wont be playable in MGS4, just because everybody hated on him in the second game.

Hayabusa` I didn't mind having two playable characters. okay, it's been a while since I last played MGS2 but I don't remember two playable characters, unless of course you meen in 1&2 put together, In which case I'll look very stupid.
Anyways, It's nice to see some people sticking up for Raiden, everyone I know seems to hate him and i was beginning to think I was the only one who thought he was a decent character.
but in 4 i swear he's wearing heels.....

but in 4 i swear he's wearing heels..... in mgs you start off with Solid Snake in the Tanker, and then in the Plant you use Raiden. But the thing that i do like about raiden alot is what Solidus Snake points out. Solid, Liquid, and Solidus are just Clones of Big Boss, their not unique. Raiden is unique, he wasnt cloned from anyone, he grew into the fighter, monster (so solidus puts it) he is.

I like raiden, and now in MGS4 most people will complain because he's not playable... And then Hideo will just laugh at their face and say "That's what you asked for... you said you didn't like him"... sweatdrop

I thought Raiden was cool. The only thing that sucks about him is Rose. She was SUPAH!ANNOYING.
So what if he's not Snake? You get to play with him for the first 1/3 of the game.
Both are cool. Buuuuuuuut, Snake is better sweatdrop
....
I guess I didn't really make any points >.>
