I was meditateing and before I got to the point where your mind is blank I started to see as if my eyes were open even though they were closed! because of this I thought "wow" therefore messing me up and I wen't and made breakfest but thats besides the point!
can anybody tell me what that could have been?
what its called?
if it has any benifits at all?

I've had things like that happen before, for me it's either my mind painting what I should see on there, or seeing with spirit energies and such. I don't know what it might be for you, but thats the first thing in my mind.

dont worry too much...its natural... and there isnt really anything u call it besides seeing through your eyelids as far as i know

There's actually a few possibilities for what it is ^^;;
It could be the mind tricking you and taking the last image you saw and then displaying it for you to see (what you saw just before closing your eyes, your mind then makes you see to occupy your sense of sight).
Or it could be subconscious scrying (also known by some long name that I can't remember). That's a magical art which uses no components and is done with only the powers of the mind (much like many kinesises (sp?)) which allows one to see things even if they aren't there 3nodding Usually it can be used to find lost items or see what's going on somewhere that you don't have access to, though you might have subconsciously scryed on what was in front of you whee
Or it could be that you have a VERY POWERFUL natural third eye. The third eye is the eye made of energy which sees energy 3nodding A few people (1/10, maybe?) have a natural one, but the rest have to use a psionic trick to create one (I have to create one crying ). If your third eye is powerful enough, you could, in theory, tell the exact shape and texture of things based on their energy patterns alone.
Or it could be something else 3nodding

I've sort of experienced this too, but it was less along the lines of the physical appearance. It was sort of like having radar or something. I could tell where things around me were, and i could see the colors of some of the energies around me. I wasn't really meditating either, i just closed my eyes and decided i wanted to see. It was quite odd. Maybe the product of the third possibility that ambrose said, but i have trouble believing that little me would be able to do anything more than insignificant.

I am able to do the same thing, only at any point, as long as I trust myself. All I have to do is relax, close my eyes, and then I can see. My only problem is I start to doubt what I see, and trust my instincts instead, so I walk into something.

Oh my gosh! I realize this is an old subject... *ahem, a VERY old subject,* but I have to put my two cents in... LoL.
Both me and my father experience something similar to this, although I'm -nowhere- near as good at it as I'd like to be. sad Anyways, what happens (generally) is this: I've got my eyes closed, lying in bed, blah-blah-blah... While thinking aobut some random event, or after trying (generally unsucsessfully (sp?)) to initiate it, I'll be able to 'see' the room! At first, I was like, uh, ok, maybe I just have my eyelids open a little and can't tell... so I put one of my hands over my eyes. Nope, I could still see, didn't matter even if I sqwinched my eyes shut or anything. So then I was like, well, maybe I'm just hallucinating or my brain is playing tricks with me... So I took my stuffed unicorn, Fuschia, and waved her around a bunch, so that I couldn't really tell where she was in relation to my body. Now, I 'saw' her the entire time, but that's beside the point. My actual point is that when I took my other hand (I'd been squeezing my eyes shut at this point) and touched the top of her horn, I went directly to it. I was pretty amazed...
Now, this sounds an awful lot like coincidence, but I have terrible hand-eye coordination. Seriously. If I shut my eyes and try to touch the edge of the table or even the edge of this keyboard and I can't 'see,' then I'm going to miss it completely.
The only wierd thing is that I can only see in black and white, and I haven't managed to be able to do it during full light yet more than once... confused
Of course, the one time that I managed to do it during full light, it was in color and I thought my eyes were actually open... lol Haven't been able to do it since, though. LoL.
Okay, that's it, just wanted to put my two cents in. wink

its a step towards astral projecting so you doing good its called an internal projection, you got to the point where your body was asleep and your mind was a wake but it mite be a tad bit different when meditating
