Sin needs to be punished. God is a just God. He may not be fair at times, but he is one hundred present just. God will not allow sin to go unpunished. Sin must be met with retribution. If you die in sin, then you burn in hell forever. The bible says, "For the wages of sin is death."
One day everyone will stand before the judgment seat of Christ. If we are to be judged by our works we are going to be found guilty and thus sentenced to the eternal lake of fire. The bible says, "By the deeds of the law no flesh shall be justified in his sight." This means that no one is good enough go get to heaven. Not even one. What about gennerally nice people? Well, the bible says, "Men's rightiousness is like filthy rags unto the lord." Nobody is good enough to get to heaven. Not even a single one.
Now, if your not afraid of hell, then something is terribly wrong with you.
So far we have discussed the justice of God. Now I am going to discuss the love of God. The bible says, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our lord." You see, God provided away by which we could escape judgment. Instead of being judged by the works we do, we could be judged by wheather or not we have accepted Jesus Christ as our lord and savior.
You see, Jesus Christ was the son of God, and God himself. He was God in the flesh. Jesus lived 2000 years ago. He was a great preacher but he was also the son of God. The prophecies fortold that a messiah would come and remove the sin's of the world. That is exactly what Jesus did. The pharasies got so pissed off at Jesus that they sent him to be crucified by the romans. The romans beat him up, whipped him down, and pushed a crown of thorns into his head. They spit on him and made jokes about him. They nailed him to the cross and they let him hang there. "If your the son of God, then save yourself. If your truly the son of God, why don't you come down from that cross" they said.
But no. Jesus had a different plan: The plan of salvation. Jesus suffered on the cross in our place. He took on the penalty for our sin. If only we would give our life to Jesus Christ, we would be instanlty forgiven of every sin we ever committed and would commit in the future.
Jesus died and was burried, but on the third day he rose up from the grave, and all his diciples saw him. They were stunned. They were not expecting him to rise again even though he said he would. He taught his diciples what to preach and then he ascended into heaven to be reunited with his father forever more. You see, Jesus when he was dieing on the cross, was seperated from his father for that instant. It was a horrible thing for him to bear. There had been perfect love between the father, the son and the holy spirit since the dawn of time. That was the punishment Jesus took on the cross for you and me.
The bible says "while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." All we have to do is turn our life over to Christ and trust in him as our lord and savior, and we are forgiven. Then we can goto heaven when we die.
The bible also says in some very important passage of the gospel of john,
John 3
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that who soever believeth in him shall not perish but have ever lasting life.
17 For god sent not his son into the world to condemn the world but that the world through him might be saved.
18 For he who believe in the name of the son of God is not condemned but he who does not believe in his name stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of the one and only begotten sons of God.
17 For god sent not his son into the world to condemn the world but that the world through him might be saved.
18 For he who believe in the name of the son of God is not condemned but he who does not believe in his name stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of the one and only begotten sons of God.
The bible also says, "And the condemnation is this, that light came into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil."
The light is Jesus Christ our lord and the absence of the light is the darkness. This does not mean that we are justified by works but rather that because we do evil things we chose not to accept Christ.
Now all you need to do to be forgiven of your sins is accept his word as true. You must give your life to Christ and trust him as your lord and savior. The bible says in romans: "If thou believe in thy heart that Jesus Christ is lord, and confess with thy mouth that God raised him from the dead, you are saved."
So what do you say? Do want to keep living in sin, or do you want to come to Jesus Christ for his love?
The bible says, "For by grace are ye saved through faith;that not of yourselves;it is the gift of God; not of works least any man should boast"
It is by truly accepting Christ that you are justified before God. It is not by your works. No man is good enough to get into to heaven.
All you have to do is pray to Jesus and ask him to come into your heart and transform you into the kind of person he want's you to be. Then the holy spirit will come to live inside of you, and will convict you.
After that..... you pray to the father in the son's name. I personally like to end all my prayers with, "... in Jesus precious name I pray amen."
"....in Jesus name amen" will do just fine. It's as long as your praying in Jesus name.
I have a God that answers prayer and has the power to do all things. Nothing is impossible for my lord. Do you want this God to be lord of your life to. He loves you and wants to have a personal relationship with you.
I have warned you of hell, and judgment, and I have preached the good news of the gospel. Your blood is no longer on my hands if you do not accept the word. Let it be your choice, what you eternal destination is going to be.
If you would like to learn more about this gospel, get a bible, and open it up, and begin reading the gospel of John. There is an index there so you will be able to find it. After reading the gospel of John, read romans, and ephesisans, and corinthians, and the acts, and all those good books that constitute the holy scriptures. They are the most vital books the aquaiting you with the message of salvation.
