Folks, the rumor about a Namco RPG on the 360 is now true, but it's not a Tales game. :]
http://namco-ch.net/trusty_bell/index.php
Official Site. It looks beautiful, and I think it's done by Tri-Crescendo, the ones responsible for Baten Kaitos. oO
http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/713/713699p1.html IGN article.
Famitsu Scans: Scan 1 Scan 2
It looks so gorgeous ... but there's so much I want. -_-;;
I've never played Baten Kaitos...
edit:
Here's a not-flash-heavy site (it's an XBox site)
http://www.xboxyde.com/news_3095_en.html

I haven't read about the story yet, but I'll get to it. :]
edit: Screw IGN and it's flash-heavy-ness. :[RPGamer Bandai Namco has provided gamers with tidbits of its upcoming RPG Trusty Bell: Chopin's Dream (Chopin no Yume). Some screenshots and artwork has been published exclusively in Japan's Famitsu magazine, and it is known that the game will be released on Xbox 360. Other information is available scantily, but a few details have been unveiled. The story takes place in a dream world dreamt by no other than the famous composer Frédéric Chopin (1810-1849) himself, three hours before his early death in a hospital. In this dream, Chopin meets a young girl named Polka and a 16-year-old boy Allegretto. Polka, whose death is drawing near, lives with her mother in a village called Tenuto. In this dream world, however, those with incurable illnesses possess magical powers. Due to this, people tend to eschew the poor girl, except for Allegretto, who has determined to help her. In their ventures the three are drawn into battles that focus on action, which makes Allegretto's sword skills and Polka's more or less powerful umbrella quite useful. The party will also receive reinforcement from a mysterious man called Beat. Considering the identity of the key character, it comes as no surprise that music has a special emphasis in the game. In the Japanese version, famous actor Leo Morimoto will provide narration, and Russian pianist Stanislav Bunin will perform Chopin's original piano scores. The overall musical composition will be the work of Motoi Sakuraba, who is well-known for his production for the Tales series. Trusty Bell: Chopin's Dream seems to have other features common to Tales games, as well. The character illustrations, setting, artwork and even original names that are all musical terms that resemble those of the Tales series. The game is under development at tri-Crescendo, the same studio that has contributed to such titles as Radiata Stories, Star Ocean and Valkyrie Profile. The release date has not yet been announced and further information is still anticipated.

BASIC INFO CHARACTERS
NOTE 1: Images are from XBox Hyde, although they were originally from GAME Watch. Still, pics pics!
NOTE 2:Descriptions for Chopin, Allegretto, Beatm and Polka are from the Eternal Sonata page at Wikipedia. Thanks to whoever entered those in O__O
NOTE 3: Oh yeah! The small pics are thumbnails. Click the images for larger versions!
NOTE 4: Info for Voila, Salsa, and March are thanks to ChewyPyro from GameFAQs!
Fryderyk Franciszek Chopin
 Sex: Male
Age: 39
Japanese Voice: Mitsuaki Madono
"I can basically use all kinds of magic. I am dreaming up this world, after all."
His full name is Fryderyk Franciszek Chopin. Born in Poland in 1810, he is known as the "poet of the piano". Of weak constitution, he nevertheless has a deeply sensitive and subtle personality. In particular, the loss of his 14-year-old sister Emilia to tuberculosis left a deep scar on his heart. Chopin can see traces of her in Polka, also 14 and destined to die. While knowing that the world in which he meets Allegretto and Polka is just a dream he is having on his death bed, gradually he becomes more and more confused by how real the world feels. He begins to question where his true feelings lie. All the words he speaks come out as poetry.
Allegretto
 Sex: Male
Age: 16
Weapon: Sword
Japanese Voice: Hiro Shimono
"It doesn't make sense! In this world the people with shining hearts are the ones who suffer! ...That's supposed to be okay?!?"
A boy who works as a bread thief in the port city of Ritardando to provide food for poor children. Though he knows what he is doing is wrong, his strong sense of justice refuses to let him abandon the children. He uses rough language and occasionally even hits his young friend Beat, but in reality he is deeply emotional, and thinks of his young friend as a little brother. With the contradiction of a world where the gap between rich and poor lying especially hard on his mind, Allegretto sets off on journey. He is captivated by Polka, who makes light of her own tragic fate while living each day with earnest, and resolves to save her.
Polka
 Sex: Female
Age: 14
Weapon: Umbrella
Japanese Voice: Aya Hirano
"I want to use this limited life of mine to give everyone happiness."
A girl who lives with her mother in the village of Tenuto, on top of a hill overlooking the port of Ritardando. She makes her living by selling Floral Sealing Medicine, extracted from Tenuto's unique flowers. However, due to the circulation of cheap government-recognized Ore Sealing Medicine, lately she has been unable to sell any medicine at all. In a world where magic is a side-effect seen in those cursed by a fatal and incurable disease, death is always close to a magic-user such as she. Added to such a cruel fate are rumors flying about that the disease is transmitted simply through contact, leading Polka to be shunned by humanity and causing her to lose all trust in others. However, after meeting Chopin, she decides to use what little remains of her life to help others.
Beat
 Sex: Male
Age: 8
Weapon: Clarinet Gun
Japanese Voice: Yumiko Kobayashi
"Why is bread this expensive? If it were a little cheaper, we could just buy it..."
Works as a bread thief with Allegretto in the port city of Ritardando. Beat calls Allegretto "Niichan" (big brother) and adores him like an older brother. A camera that is the only surviving memento of his father is his treasure. Beat is short for his age and is bothered by his height. Sporting a bright and cheerful personality, he is able to talk to anyone and everyone freely. Though he does not usually think very hard, in many cases his sincere words come surprisingly close to the real truth.
Viola
 Age: 26
Weapon: Bow
Voice: Kuwashima Houko
"Something like virtue isn't something easily had, but just a little courage will give it to you."
Bio: "Having built a little house in the Sabi Prairie, she lives as a goat farmer. She is always together with Aruko the squirrel.
She is tidy, and has a calm personality, speaks candidly, but somewhat keeps age in mind. She doesn't really know anyone in the bustling city, so she lives a carefree life in the vast prairie. To teach Polka and Allegretto the truth of "Mineral Powder" is why she decides to cut her ties and journey with them."
Salsa
 Age: 8
Weapon: Solar Ring
Voice: Kanai Mika
"Geez... what a huge spectical of a miracle adventure..." (translator's note: what the hell is dattabe!?)
Bio: "This spontaneous girl was raised in the natural surrounding of Agogo Forest. She always speaks what's on her mind, and whenever she opens her mouth rude things come out, yet she doesn't seem to care. However, she is always cheerful, and doesn't hate anyone. Always energetic, she is the life of the party, and brings fun and smiles to everyone around her."
March
 Age: 8
Weapon: Lunar Ring
Voice: Saito Chiwa
"It's because we are twins. Watch, and I think you will soon understand."
Bio: "Salsa's younger twin sister, together they watch over Agogo forest. She has always been calm, and unlike her sister she is very polite. Her sister's bluntness and impoliteness doesn't really bother her, and always nonchalantly follows her, for she knows her sister is a kind person."
Other characters:
Jitterbug Falsetto Claves
There's also a guy with a monocle ("the one who keeps attacking you throughout the story," I'm guessing) and a blond guy, who I assume is the king. Awfully young for a king O__O Which is probably why he seems conceited. xD VIDEOS GameTrailers.com IGN.com RPGamer.com Gamespot.com

TGS 2006 Trailer - Trailer Gameplay 1 - Greetings from Allegretto and Polka! Gameplay 2 - Battle Gameplay 3 - Battle Gameplay 4 - Battle
BATTLE SYSTEM INFO At another forum, someone put up a VERY good description of the battle system. Please read it!
Information
NEW - In addition to the role of light and shadow in battle, here is some info on the Echo System and the Harmony Chain System, much thanks to Sonsaru from GameFAQs!Sonsaru from GameFAQs OK I haven't seen this anywhere so here's "the skinny" on the battle system, taken from videos, the official site and those new scans.
It's a "semi-realtime" system. You have to wait for your turn to come around but when it does actions take place in real time (at least, they do eventually - see below.) A bar at the side of the screen shows how long you have to move, and during this time you can run around and attack.
Light and Shadow on the maps also effect battle. If your character is standing in light or in shadow their special attacks change, and monsters actually totally change appearance / abilities if they are in light or in shadow or move between them (you can see this happening in some of the videos if you know to look for it.) Sounds like an interesting system which but will need creative battle map design to really work well.
Now, what has really got me excited about the battle system is the "Party Level." After beating certain bosses the party level goes up and the rules of battle change. It becomes more challenging but you are also rewarded by being able to do new things. Here are the battles rules for levels 1-4 as shown in the Famisu scan.
Level 1 - Time doesn't pass when you are standing still! For the beginner, even if it is your turn the time bar will not go down if you are standing still.
Level 2 "Echo", making your special attacks stronger, will charge up! Echo, (see below) can now be charged up, but once you start moving the time bar cannot be stopped again.
Level 3 - Up to four special attacks can be equipped! The thinking time prior to moving goes from being infinite to down to 3 seconds before time starts to pass once your turn starts. The overall amount of time you can move changes from 5 to 4 seconds. But you can now equip four special moves.
Level 4 - Special attack combinations can be performed! Counter attacks now possible! Press the button with precise timing when an enemy attacks and you can now counter attack. "Harmony Chain" (see below) can now be used. However, thinking time falls again, to just 1 second before time starts to pass.
There are other bonuses mentioned to party level going up, such as movement speed increasing.
Echo system - Simple enough, a gauge flls up as you fight normally / repeatedly hit with normal attacks. It can be charged up to 32 points and when you use a special attack however much energy is charged up is used to make the attack stronger. If over 24 points are charged a cut-in for the special attack also plays.
Harmony Chain - Allows you to perfom combos using special attacks. When one special attack finishes hitting the button with precise timing can link into another special attack. It can only be used with at least 24 Echo charged up. When the party level hits level 5 you can also perform combos with multiple characters.
There you go, then. Just my little gift to the board. I was going to get this but wasn't sure about it until I did the above research; now I'm pushing into the pretty keen area. Sucks that all the Achievements are secret but hopefully that is just because they are all story related. Anyway, enjoy.

I expected more people than this. ._.;; Whether they own a 360 or not. ._.;;
I found that Namco-Bandai is also developing an RPG for the Wii and another for the PS3 ...
I don't care whether they're Tales or not though. x3

Well here I am, while I did hear that the tales of game has not been shown at E3, at least an RPG made by the Xenosaga guys should make that rumor.
Now this makes me want to save up for a 360, but I wonder if it'll come to amarica? Well I hope it does.
You've done a bad thing posting this up...because I'm very known for not holding in my love.

Damn, I didn't know that the 360 is $500 ... Here in the heat of Texas, there's like two packs to choose from. Either core edition which is pretty cheap, or platinum set which comes with more features. So did you post this out of the kindness in your RPG heart, or have you gicin Xbox a chance? I'm confused as to why you put this here. Just for the news of it...and this is just out of curiosaty so I won't flame you for anything, I'm bad about that. sweatdrop

I was listening to Chopins music, ((The guy who has the dream)) and it's so very touching. http://www.ourchopin.com/Site to some of his works in MIDI form. Speaking of pianoists, didn't you know that Beethoven, when he composed ode to joy, he was deef? He never heard of what is considered his best work, he only herd it in his head...sad huh? sad

I think it's common knowledge that he was deaf when he composed that song (as he was with other compositions)
This might be a better banner xD

I wish there are pics of Allegretto too xP Guess we'll have to wait. xD
And Beat. oO He hasn't been introduced yet, though xDDD
