After much debate Moony and I have finally decided to dump the auto growths for all Salem's home adoptions and now will follow a growth requirement.
Also, I locked the Spring Event thread...
Which leads to the announcement of the new subforum "Locked Threads".
Tal and Eyota finally was updated as well as the adopted kid list.
The minishop ( Simplicity Inc ) has been updated massively with Clothes, pillows, and food, just to name a few things, and will be updated with more things as the days go by for the next or so. Remember you don't have to be a parent to buy from us!
And the Rp event is still going from now until the end of may. The Cake eating contest should be happening soon.

Raffle ended well! Which is good, and no body left empty handed! ^_^
The Flatsale ended better than usual, 3 out of the 5 kids that were up for adoption were well... adopted! Istu found a new home with Baxterfullous, our new and first Young Teen Reno-Rangle found a new home with Mauli, and Ardith found a new home with our new Salem's home Anthro Artist/Colorist Dragonfly (Chibi_Dragonfly )!
:B Moony is more than over joyed. Soon Iye and Gel will be placed back up for adoption and hopefully someone will find a place in their heart for those cold hearted little children.

The Spring Event has started, it will be a two week long event, the first week will be filled with events and contests that will run along side the Event RP that will last throughout the two week, given plenty of time for everyone to come in and rp.
The second week will be the Flatsale, which will be including. Iye, Geldiira, Ardith and a new baby. ( A surprise until the flatsale! )
The contests will be:
A raffle, with the grand prize being a commissioned Salem's Home Adoption. heart
And a RP Contest, that will include a small talent show ( If possible) and a cake eating contest. The rules will be explained OOC for convience sake.
Everyone can participate in these contests. ^__^

Moony and I are really busy, since it's the holiday season, scheduled growings are going to be a bit late, and the first of the group for this month won't be PMed until the Pms are available again.

The Rules and Regulatons section is divided into sections each going over different subjects. Please read the rules carefully so we can avoid any misunderstandings and if anyone should disregard the rules intentionally they will be placed on the grey/black list.General Rules
Do NOT steal any of the art or character concept display within the thread or the guild, art thieves will be reported and castrated and other hideous nasty things will be done to them. If you wish to alter any artwork ( such as making it smaller or cropping it for your signature) you can PM this account, ASK and I will do it.
Trolling, blatantly advertising someone else's or your own shop, spamming, begging for gold, and any general harassment will lead to you being reported and you will be placed in the blacklist.
No chat speak. Period. We ignored anyone who can't form a sentence properly.
This is RP heavy, meaning if your not online often or have absolutely no free time this isn't the shop for you.
Do not PM us asking questions and especially asking for a free adoption, ask any questions within the thread and we will get to them all accordingly.
Follow the Gaia TOS.
No quoting trees. One or two quotes are ok, but too many within too many is a mess.
Rules About And For Adoptions
All payments go to this account.
We do accept items OF EQUAL AND GREATER value or an acculmitive of items that equal. Check the Gen prices.
Creativity is more important than gold, if we really like your entry we can work a payment plan.
If you neglect your creature it will be taken away and then put back up for adoption.
Couples can adopt together, but they must pay, play and upkeep the magical creature together.
You can have a maximum of 3 adopted magical creatures at a time.
Keep up with the RP requirements.
RP Requirements ( This is so you can *KEEP* your adoption )
RP inside the guild least once every two months.
Update your magical creatures' rooms and your assigned apartment. Which means:
All the room posts are filled ( descriptions, rules, guest list, etc etc )
Rps outside and inside the guild are to be logged.
There should be at least two to three "events" or one sided RPs between you and your family every month or so.
Be some what active in the main thread.
Announce any hiatus' or explain unexpected ones.
Growth Requirements General Requirements to grow to the next stage
3 RPs inside the guild
All the room posts are filled ( descriptions, rules, guest list, etc etc ) this include your apartment
2 random events have been completed.
4 one on one rps between you and your magical family.
2 Journal entries ( this means 2 for you, and 2 for each of your adoptions )
Once they have become young children they also need:
2 RPs in a classroom setting for at least 3 subjects ( private or public )
1 journal entry about school
Once they become preteens they will also need:
Choose a job class. ( this will be explained later and done through RP )
Begin training as well as continued school ( this will be done through RP )
More will be added as we continue...Once you have completed the requirements for your Salem's Home adoption to grow, you will receive a quest that must come to some solution, and then a form that you must fill out completely about how your child has changed through this stage of life. Roleplay Rules
Give your characters character. Not everyone is sound of mind and everyone has imperfections. Be creative and give your characters unique personality, the more unique the better. x3
Please, stay in character, unless other wise stated such as threads that are marked "Non-RP" such as the main shop thread. [ until the guild as been purchased we don't really have a place to RP, but after the first flatsale we should be able to purchase a guild ASAP.]
Killing is not encouraged, but if you or your adopted creature die 3 times you will stay dead.
Give us a heads up if you can't RP or be online for long periods of time or you'll be at risk of having your adopted creature being taken away.
Out of Character banter, chat and such is to stay OUT of any RP threads, the main shop and soon to come designated threads will be set up for OOC.
This is a semi-literate required play. I know no one has perfect spelling or grammar, but at least trying is good too.
Guests are allowed to come in and RP along with the rest of the staff, guest rules will be stated in the up and coming guild as soon as we get it.

Q: Can I have one of your pets?
A: For one they're not pets... They're sentient beings, meaning they can speak and think for themselves. As for having one, you need to have the capabilty to roleplay as well as win the adoption flatsale just like everyone else.
Q: Can I have one for free?
A: No, and don't beg.
Q: How many magical creatures can I adopt?
A: 3 at the maximum.
Q: If I can't afford the adption fee at the moment can I still have one?
A: Yes, creativity is more important than gold. You are of course expected to give periodic payments until the debt is payed off, but this will be handled on an individual basis.
Q: Do we have to role play?
A: Yes, and it's ver very very important. This is going to be very role play heavy shop. You are expected to play not only yourself, but your creature as well and any other characters you wish to bring in.. If you don't have the time or the interest to put forth that much effort, then you've come to the wrong place and your adopted creature will be taken back and put up for adoption once again.
Q: Do I have to roleplay myself?
A: Not unless you want to, you are allowed to use an original character as the adoptive parent.
Q: Can I roleplay my other adopted pets as well as my adopted creature(s) and myself ( or original character in some cases )?
A: Sure! I don't see why not.
Q: If I get my adopted creature taken away, can I have it back?
A: Yes, you can... If you can win them back and pay the fee for winning... You have three tries to get it right. If you lose three times, you will not be allowed another and you will be banned from the shop.
Q: Will the adopted creatures be able to breed?
A: Yes, and not nessarsarily with the same specices! All creatures can breed with each other no matter what they are, but they must be an adult.
Q: What will happen to the resulting babies?
A: They will be created and put up for adoption just like their parents.
Q: How many adopted creatures can I have?
A: Two at a time. No more than that.
Q: If I get tired of my creature what can I do?
A: Well... you can give up the creature to adoption again. Disowning or abandoning is however highly discouraged and you may only do this three times. Upon the third creature you may not have any more.
Q: Can couples adopt?
A: Yes they can, but they must share the responsibilites and finaces.
Q: Can same sex couples adopt?
A: Sure! All rules still apply though.
Q: Can same sex creatures become mates?
A: Yes, they may have any mate they wish.
Q: Can same sex creatures breed?
A: Well... They can do the act, but nothing will come of it. However there will be a magical prosses where offspring can be produced from same sex parents.
Q: Why isn't there examples of what creatures look like in other stages?
A: Well, all of them are very individualized. Depending on how their life goes may effect how they look so there's no way for me to really perdict what one creature or another will look like as it grows. As pressent babies grow however there will be links to see what they look like in comparison to how they looked when they were younger.
Q: Where do we role play?
A: In the rooms set up in the guild.
Q: Can anyone role play in the guild?
A: Yes, but you first have to PM me a profile for approval. The profile set up is posted on the guild. Please check there.

Due to the over whelming amount of babies and parents, it has come to our attention that new artists are needed.
Requirements:
The ability to draw qaudrepeds ( felines, kanines, etc.), avians, equines, humanoids, and mythic creatures ( dragons, chimera, etc.). Is it not required to be able to draw all of these, but it's a nice bonus.
Please supply three to eight pieces of artwork for each kind you'd like to try out for. You'll judged based purely on talent.
Colorists
Due to the over whelming amount of babies and parents, it has come to our attention that colorists are needed.

Salem Von Montegue  All "Normal" Magical Creatures take two months to grow, while dragons, fairies, elves ( this includes Dryders ), and griffons take three months to grow.

The babies all are born with set personalities, but this is one of the most influencial stages of your magical creature's life. Because of this, naturally 'evil' creatures won't always follow what their race commonly does. You must influence them and take care of them so they will grow up to be healthy. Babies are for the most part playful, fussy, and sleep a lot. The extent of their movement is limited to crawling for bipeds and clumsy walking for quadrapeds. Those who have wings cannot lift off the ground yet. Also nothing more then babbling and very few simple words come out of these little ones. Babies are also very curious and this is a whole new world so it will be explored!
Note:
Dragons are the only babies that at birth know how to speak not only their natural language of Draconic, but also English. This English is however is limited to simple incomplete sentences, much like speech at the end of the infant stage and towards the beginning of the toddler stage.

Toddler
At this stage your baby will no longer be as small, simple sentances and words are understandable and fuller. Steps will be taken for the first time as they enter this stage though rather clumsy. Also at this stage toddlers will try to push the limits of your paitentence. For those who can fly, fluttering just off the ground will start, but it doesn't last for more then a few seconds. Toddlers are also more confident in their actions then infants.

Young Child
No longer toddling, your toddler is now a small child. They can now walk normally and run though this is clumsy. Speech is now coming in more complex sentences, and fluttering has turned into short bursts of clumsy flight. At this point children will be expected to start going to preschool.

Child
Running, jumping, and skipping are all things that your 'big kid' has mastered. Those who can fly can actually pull short distances of flight. Your not-so-little-ones will now have started to feel the need to be independant and will be attending Elementary school.

Preteen
Your child is almost a teenager now! At this point your tween usually get quite an independent streak. Most will feel they are now old enough to do as they please and know everything there is to know about life. This is of course far from the truth. You must take good care of them to make sure they stay out of harms way, something they seem to be in the way of more often these days... Flying creatures have a good handle on flight now and can even get a good amount of lift. Preteens have now stepped up to Middle School.

Teen
Congratulations. You are now responsible for a teenager. Good luck... This is probably one of the wildest stages you will have to handle. Most reach this stage and develope the independent streak from Hell. They want to do as they please whether you like it or not. Again steering them out of harms way is a good idea, but the job has grown much harder. Flying is mastered at this age as well. We musn't forget that flirting will start at this point as well. Teens are to attend High School.

Young Adult
You made it? Congratulations! The hard part is over for the most part. At this age, creatures start to mellow out at least a little. For those who don't they have at least been struck with a little common sense. Now flirting feels far more important then it did before and the search for a mate often starts. At this stage in their lives creatures are no longer expected to go to school, but some to continue on to College.

Adult
Now more mature, you no longer need to take care of your adopted creature simply because they are quite capable of taking care of themselves. If they have not found a mate already, they may find one now. At this point in life breeding has become possible.

Old
Now that they're getting older they are starting to mellow out a lot more. They won't be quite as active as they usually are anymore. By this point they have learned quite a bit in life and make up for things they can no longer do as well with new things they have picked up along the way. Running, jumping, and flying is starting to become a little difficult.

Very Old
Most creatures at this age are far wiser then most. They are unable to do many of the physical activities that they used to any more. They can nolonger move faster then a trot or jog at this point and flying has become very clumsy. Their health is also starting to grow worse.

Ghost
Your creature has now passed on, this stage can only be accessed to magical creatures who have lived full lives or.. if their life has come to an abrupt end. They exist now as ghostly forms of themselves and may even stick around with you. The no longer feel pain so walking, running, flying, and anything else they want to do if now simple. They also have the ability to move through things as they are no longer solid. However, your creature doesn't have any bodily functions anymore so it can no longer breed and has no need to eat, drink, or... er... relieve themselves. sweatdrop

Special optional stage!
If your creature chooses to do so they may go on a quest in the afterlife to become something greater then just a wondering spirit! They have two choices at this point. They may choose to quest for good or quest for evil. This will result in your creature being allowed into Heaven and become Celestial or allowed into Hell and become Demonic. They will look basicly as they did in their adult stage only with Celestial or Demonic features. Also all scars or markings they have gotten in life would be gone upon transforming.

Most creatures when they hit the Teen stage will suddenly get the urge to start playfully flirting. This will become more serious once they enter the Young Adult stage, but the thought of actually choosing a mate comes more often. Once they have become an adult, if they haven't gotten a mate yet, they will often get one now. It is now possible for your creatures to breed and have offspring. Creatures will be able to breed for the rest of their lives. Once they have passed on, they can't breed anymore. Celestial and Demonic creatures, however, can. Also there is to limit as to who can breed with who when it comes to race, after all, half-breeds and so on are possible.
