Okay so I got through the gentoo installation alive. xd

But now, I get this error:

root (hd0,0)
filesystem type is ext2fs partition type 0x83
kernel /kernel-genkernel-x86-2.6.11-gentoo-r3 root=/dev/ram0 init=/linuxrc
error 15: file not found

I followed the handbook on their site for the install so can some one help me pinpoint where I went wrong? sweatdrop

You're using the wrong values...

/dev/ram0 is a RAM disk - you certainly don't want that in your final installation...

I'm thinking you meant to do this:

at the grub> prompt:

root(hd0,0)
setup hd0
exit

Then proceed to edit /boot/grub/grub.conf and fill in your appropriate values...

With out knowing where you really are in the installation, I can only guess you're installing the boot loader, so, I could be mistaken...

Honestly I have no clue. I got to these parts where I needed to open somethings with an editor and had no clue what to do.
