Okay, so I was talking with Rocky Love online last night. There was this girl who thinks she knows everything there is to know about horses because shes got a purebred Thoroughbred named Sulpher. She rides English because Western messes up your hair stare and she hit her horse because he spooked at a car. I asked her 'Do you want to be slapped with a crop for being scared?' She replyed, 'No..but thats me. Hes just a stupid horse.' She says that hes stupid and spaztic, but yet she wont sell him because hes black, shiny and worth alot of money. She doesnt like horses, she just wants people to envy her becuase shes got a horse they cant have. She thinks that Thoroughbreds and Arabians are the only horses on the planet that arent mistakes of God. She tried 1 Quarterhorse, and she couldnt get him the canter so she hates all QH now and says they are all s**t. Shes had her horse for about a week now, and she says she can handel him, but she keeps falling off, so apparently she cant handel her horse. Shes been riding since the beginning of the year, so now she knows everything there is about horses. I asked, 'What is the top of the tail called??' She said, 'I dont have to answer you, and you cant make me. I know the answer, but I'm not going to tell you becuase you dont know. And besides...thats not about riding.' Then I asked her 'Okay....what is your 'emergency break??' She replyed again with 'I dont have to tell you that. I know it, but you dont.' Shes 13, been riding for 6 months and she thinks she knows everything. I'm 14, been riding for almost 4 years, I train my own horses, and I've worked with profesional trainers. She still think shes better becuase her horse can run fast. But anyway....enough of my ranting/venting. I just want her to be more open minded about horses, or take care of her horse. Does anyone know how to do that? Have any of you ran into someone like that?

Wow... she sounds irritating. I'm sorry you had to put up with her. Her poor horse, but with the way you made things sound he'll injure her soon and then she'll hopefully sell him to someone who can treat him right.

Little Bellaluna Wow... she sounds irritating. I'm sorry you had to put up with her. Her poor horse, but with the way you made things sound he'll injure her soon and then she'll hopefully sell him to someone who can treat him right. Yes, that is what I told her. But she just went on with her usual 'Im not going to sell him. If I cant have him nobody can.' She was very irritating. My mom told her off though and scared the shyt outta her. She was like 'Okay okay...I'll go I'll go!!!' It was funny.

Ah, I work with a girl who's like that. I set her straight pretty quick, though, when I refused to let her anywhere near the horses before she pulled her head out of her a** (I'm on of the senior workers there, so I'm basically in charge of the younger ones) (wait, correction, I AM the senior worker there) and so, yeah, I didnt let her handle anything but the deadbroke, slowpoke horses, and the ponies. Even then I gave her a dead one. (well... not dead, but you know what I mean)
She told me that if I thought like her, and had her knowledge, I might understand her actions. I told her that I was trying to see things from her point of view, but I just couldn't shove my head that far up my a**.
The best thing to do when dealing with arrogant pricks, is to be a BIGGER arrogant p***k. Put them in their place until they show some respect, then show them you can be nice =/
Challenge her to something complex, like jumping or barrel racing, or a race through a course (with jumps and turns and puddles and such) and if she backs down, do the psychology thing. No one, and I mean no one, can resist being called a chicken. Dont do the gay "bawk bawk crap", but tell everyone in the stables to subtly make fun of her for backing from a challenge if she knows so much. :nodnod:. work every time.
... especially with arrogant pricks.

Everything I would've said has already been said except for this. There was this girl at my riding school who got the greatest little pony ever called Moscow except she was a crap rider and was way too young for him. One of the instructors kept arguing with her mum over it so the girl just packed up and moved to another stables.

lol, people like that are funny. when some one like that rides, all you can do is sit back, relax, and watch them fall off, lol. or give them pointers while they ride, nothing bugs people more than "your on the wrong posting diagonal!" "remember your half haults!" "did you ask for that transition?" "shorten your reins!" "put your hands down!" and do it all sweetly like you're actually trying to help. it very funny and can get some one who's already frustrated, super mad. very funny, i know from experience. lol

Ah. Sounds like a case of too much money and too little brains.
I find you can't get agressive and mean with these people. You have to be calm, be better, be wiser. Start talking up a storm with lots of difficult horse words, and try to include her - let her fall into her own grave...
"I'm not sure, should I choose the standing martingale or the German martingale?.... This twisted roller eggbutt just isn't working, what would you recommend? Alright, let's half-pass to K, then extend to the trot to C and collect to H" Etc etc... Let her make a fool out of herself.
These are just kids who need wake up calls.

I pity you, but then again I pity the horse just as much, if not more.

I don't live in the same town...or even the same country as her. (I think) If I worked with her, she would have been set straight long ago. I have zero tolerance for people like her. She LOVES fast horses. Thats one of the only things that matter to her. Once I told her how QH's got their name she said, "Okay, I'll give quarter horses another try I guess."

Yeah, and you wouldn't believe how many horses belonging to 'speed-loving' owners develop severe arthritis when they get older. stare

I can't stand people that talk about animals "it's just an animal! itdoesn't feel anything!" I want to slap them... we're animals too... and all animals feel the same thing... we all feel pain, fear, hatred, and happines... it sickens me... I hope someone takes that horse away from her... she doesn't deserve to own ANY animal... evil
