I was actually going to ask the same thing but never did because I was too lazy. Er...I don't really see the similarities between the two besides the fact that both devote to characters in some way.
Man, that was hard to word.

~Ah well. ^^ I actually kind of despise the 'Character is...' project a little bit, just because I don't like the idea that one person's interpretation of a character should be taken as 'true' and some of them seem to be an excuse for insulting people the artist doesn't agree with. Uh, yeah. [/offtopic]
Anyway, anyone have suggestions to make this subforum more interesting? I haven't yet been able to think of anything other than spamming it with pics. >.>

I don't like the "Character is..." project either! I thought I was the only one. They're entertaining, sure, but some points can definitely be argued. Plus, yeah, I think they are a way to insult others. I'm not trying to, er, insult the artists who participate in that project by saying that, but I won't be easily persuaded to think otherwise about it.
Hmm. We could maybe have a character of the week or something. Or, we could do a countdown thing of everyone's top favorite characters by voting. When I used to be an active member of the ultimatedisney.com forum, we had a number of countdowns like that, and they were always fun. 3nodding Of course, we would probably need more active members.

~Nah, a lot of people don't like them. There was even talk of doing a counter 'Fandom is...' type thing, but the idea was abandoned. ^^ Some artist's are just doing them for fun and really only mean 'Canon!Character Is...', but a lot seem to really think their view of the character is the only one that is valid, and that destroys the point of doing fanstuffs at all, really.
Countdowns would be great once we got some people to actually post. ^^ And that character of the week idea sounds interesting. We'd just have to figure out how to make that work... :ponders: Maybe we could pre-write some posts talking about that characters and post them during each character's week?
