I think it doesn't.

I'm serious. Women act like we're in control of our lives and we're equal to men, but I don't think so. I think a lot of the time you have women who are like "Well I have sex whenever I want." "Well I wear whatever I want, without some man telling me I have to cover up my body!"

But is that really feminism? Or merely defying the purpose of it?
When women portray themselves as sex objects, aren't they just adding to the disrespect of the sex?

Discuss/debate:

The rise/fall of feminism. Has it fallen yet?
What is true feminism?
How can we preserve it/ keep it going?

Well, I've never honestly been much of a feminist because I think we truly do have it good (or better) than at any other time in our history.
No, as women we are not treated with much respect by men no matter what kind of woman we are (whore, modest). Men can argue that not all are like this, but it is the ever-growing majority.

--No, feminsim hasn't fallen yet but many of us are turning into pure whores with little respect for ourselves. How are men suppose to respect us if we don't respect ourselves? With today's fashion trends even little girls leave home half dressed.

--True feminism is definately not eqaulity because there is no such thing. Feminism is merely a tiny shred of respect that we all deserve seperately from time to time in our lives. Of course, a woman with a DD size breast and long blonde curls wearing a skin tight tank and a skirt that doesn't even make it over her hump of an a$$ can only expect so much 3nodding . And no, this isn't all of us. It's most of us.

--Well, it would take a lot of time. But to be completely honest I don't think the women of America are willing enough to change our outlook. Therefore, I don't really see a solution. . . sad

Ok this is going to be my opinion on this so please dont shoot me. I personalialy think that the only so called feminist is one who says she isnt just for the fact she doesnt want to say she thinks woman shall rule the world and the men will die off. I only say this because that is how i see certian feminist, and the way they think. Yes men think they are the better sex, because the only thing, sorry guys, is because they think they should be in control of what goes on around them and exactly how every little thing goes.
Me, as a woman, on certain things I am a prefectionist, others I am the biggest slob on the face of the earth. And i need to have a pretty good idea of what is going on around me, everywhere, or I panic. When I was in a class last year, P.E. to be exact, I would bash and trash every single guy on the face of the earth and label all their bad traits, the girls in my class called started to call ME a feminist. I laughed in their faces then started labeling and trashing my own sex and listing the womens bad traits. They called me weird at that point cause they didnt know whose side I was on. I am on neither side, I hate men and I hate women. Yet, for some reason I also love them for who they are.

There's a difference between people who see that women are treated differently (and also unequally) than men, people who claim to see none of these happenings, feminists/equalists, and people who are blind to their peril (i.e., the women who think that getting a promotion in the office is okay, even though she had to wear a low-cut shirt to do it). Hell yeah feminism still exists today--there are certainly very active feminist groups, causes, and individuals. So to say that just because of a few naive people doesn't mean at all that feminism isn't a real concern for people. As to the fall, it won't fall until men and women have the same rights. Not to be treated the same, but just as equals with the same rights/privileges.

I'm sorry, but are women (assuming we're just looking at America) actually denied certain rights and privledges that are given to men? I highly doubt that, if anything they're given more to balance the belief that they're inferior to men.

For example, in my PE class whenever we play a game in which you have to tag a person the boys are not allowed to tag the girls, yet the girls can tag the boys, and the girls get double points. Is that fair? Thats admitting that in the field of sports men are better than women and they need handicaps in order to play on the same level as men.

I honestly don't believe there are that many instances in which a woman is given a promotion on acount of what she's wearing, unless it has something to do with the fashion industry, or theres another woman or gay man making the decision.

However, I do see sexual harrasment, but I think women are plenty protected against that.

In my opinion, women don't want equality, women themselves seem to actively protray the belief that they themselves must be given handicaps in our society, which is rediculous because it should be exactly the opposite.

Women and Men differ tremendously in almost every aspect. However, neither is truly superior to the other. Its impossible however to say they're entirely equal in every catagory. Men, for example, can build more muscle then women. In comparison, Women are better at multi-tasking because their right and left hemispheres can communicate more efficiently.
