This thread was made so everyone can see just how much you love/hate a character, and why. Because we all need to let out that inner passion or rage sometimes.
But what exactly is a spiel?
A spiel, put quite simply, is a long speech. Or, as dictionary.com would put it: "A lengthy or extravagant speech or argument usually intended to persuade."
Now then, spiels are only limited to the characters. I don't want rants on the plot or anything. Just the characters. Good or bad. So, basically, anyone from Mana or Kaoru's side (because they need love too). And anyone can spiel. I don't care. There can be repeats, I don't care, just don't say the exact same thing someone else did, 'kay? And you can spiel on liking or disliking the person (or a mix of both), coz I like a variety of opinions.
I shall now give you an example spiel to show you how I want these things to flow.
Miyouko
Miyouko's Spiel on Mana
[Note: I actually have good reasoning behind not liking Mana; it's not just my biased BL fangirl opinion.]
She's just too cliche. Now, granted, I can't call her ugly, because she isn't really. She's fairly pretty, and I can see why the guys like her. So I'm not going after her for her looks, and I don't think anyone could ever really go after an anime girl because of her looks, because all anime girls are pretty.
What bothers me about her is her personality. She's one of those, "I have to help everyone else, no more fighting; I act weak but actually have some great supernatural power" kind of people. And that bothers me. Not that I don't like optimism and humbleness in characters, it's just the way that Mana goes about it. And the fact that she can't hardly fend for herself but yet she has the power to mind-break a Mind Breaker bothers me.
She gets better I suppose as the manga progresses, but not really (in my opinion, anyway). And I just don't like her with Kaname because I just don't think they're suited for each other. I really don't think Kaname loves her like that... I think really he just wants to protect her, but I don't think any kind of deep, true love for her comes into play in the situation.
Now, I kinda forgot to go over the "intelligence" part, so I guess I'll do it now: Mana's not dumb. She's fairly smart. She's just a ditz. And a klutz. She's very, very naive and a lot of things go right over her head. That, and she cries at every little thing like a two-year-old, so the boys are constantly telling her not to cry. Her vocabulary often consists of nothing but "Kaname-kun" as well.
And most anime females are a lot like Mana, which is exactly why I don't like her. I want a variety, not just the same ole-same ole. So Mana just doesn't fit the bill.

Now, I kept it short, but you see? You need to have certain points and then explain them. I want at least three points. But you don't have to do it in paragraph form, you may do it in profile form where you list the points one by one and just explain them and move on.
