Hey everyone!

Like a lot of other users out there, I'm trying to watch what I eat and shed some pounds.

I currently am participating in Weight Watchers, where I happen to get a lot of recipes. I'l like to share them with you all here, and get your feedback!

PLEASE try these recipes and tell me what you liked! biggrin OR what you think should be changed-- let me know of any modifications you make!

SNICKER PIE

Ingredients:
2 cups frozen vanilla yogurt or low fat ice cream ( Slightly softened)*
2 tbsp reduced fat peanut butter ( or Peter Pan whipped)
1 small box (4 servings) Instant Sugar-Free Chocolate Pudding Mix
8 oz Fat Free Whipped Topping (thawed)

Directions:
In a large bowl, mix the peanutbutter into the ice cream. Add pudding mix and stir until combined. Add whipped topping and stir until well blended. Pour into 9" pie plate and freeze. Serves 8.

[[ WW info: Each serving is worth 3 points. *For the ice cream, choose a brand that is no more than 2 points per 1/2 cup. ]]

Let me know if you try it! biggrin I'll be making more threads with good recipes for dieters!

Hey there! Here is a recipe I got from my Weight Watcher's meeting-- it sounds really good although I haven't tried it yet.

Please try it out and let me know what you think-- I'm going to try it out tomorrow.

Diet Soda Cake

Take any flavor cake mix and mix it with a 12 oz can (1 1/2 Cup) of diet soda. Spray a cake pan or cupcake holders and pour the mix in. Bake as directed by cake mix box.
Recommended combinations:
Carrot Cake with Diet vanilla coke
Red Velvet with diet vanilla coke
Strawberry with strawberry soda or cream soda,
chocolate with almost any flavor

NOTE: USE ONLY THE DRY MIX AND SODA!! Do not add ANY other ingredients!

[[ WW notes: The points for each serving will depend on the individual cake mix. Calculate them accordingly biggrin ]]

If you make this cake, let me know what you think!! Tell me which cake and soda mix you used! Don't be afraid to try a new combination!!

I hopefully will try this tomorrow (I have to get my car's brakes checked but after that's finished I should get a chacne to shop!)

All recipes go in the Recipe thread.
BUT.
Since we haven't actually done any sort of dieting thing, and culinary arts is just as much about good eats as it is good nutrition, behold, a dieting thread.
Knock yourself out, kiddo.

Ah, sorry about that.

But yay! A diet thread! XD Because for some people (like me) looking through all of those mouth-watering recipes is going to killllll my diet..

I'm going to try the cake today, I think.

i'm so iffy about doing that dietsoda cake thing... at first i thought soda cake? irish soda bread maybe, but no... actually pour a can of diet soda into cake mix. eek I do have cake mixes laying around that needs to be used, maybe I'll try it and edit this post later to tell you how it goes. However one thing I don't like, diet soda taste awful... I can't imagine it in cake.

I'm not totally against "diet" fads, because they try to butcher all the good stuff out a food and sell it as a "diet" food, but sometimes they do come up with interesting ideas indeed. It feels like some college student running out of ingredients to cook with and starts to fool around by mixing togethering weird stuff, of course not me wink ...of course *starts pouring diet soda onto chicken wings*

basically i'm going to expect something lacking of the soft fluffy texture to it, and has err... a unique taste to it

RANT ON about diets:
1)skinny isn't always the best way to go
2)eatting right is always better, why? you get to
a)enjoy really really good food
b)keep healthy by making the right choices
c)really really enjoying good food, because there's a lot of food out there to taste
3)i blame fast food chains, they are starting to replace many unique restaurants around serving homemade meals! not only does fast food taste like crap, but their food is almost like a meal compacted into a bite size heart attack. Only positive thing I got to say about it is that it is fast. Food is already cooked for you, and all you have to do pretty much is ask and pay for it. Lovely isn't it, having food that sat out there for god knows how long served to you.
should even though people probably hear this everywhere a good diet is really just eatting a little bit of everything you need for your body to function. on top of that a good physical activity, which you think seems like they just tossed it in there for the heck of it. Being active actually helps A LOT. I'm not saying go to the gym and pull weights or use the bikes, that's BORING as all hell even when you are doing it with someone. Do something more fun and exicting. I personally enjoy snowboarding, playing soccer, badminton, and frisbee. Although given you can't play every day, but find something you would enjoy doing. The more people you get into it the more fun it is, because without competition it is really BORING. Heck even if it a hot day why not play something like supersoakers, or during fall play paintball. There's plenty of games out there to play, just find something you like.

It also tones up you body at the same time, more muscle and less fat
muscle weights more than fat fyi, heck you're a healthier person already just by keeping active. I know sometimes it isn't as easy to fit something as simple as a little plan into your work schedule, and usually most people are so tired after working they just want to sit around and do nothing or they have to deal with whatever life might bring them. My answer to that is, STOP COMPLAINING, everyone has problems and work loads, but everyone also has downtime to fit in whatever they desire to do.

Anyways there's no fast way to lose/gain weight
if you really want help, find a nutritionist
