With a downcast visage and light scuff of sneakers upon tile, Donovan entered the building. Dark-skinned thumbs were hooked through denim belt loops which were nearly obscured by the wrinkled hems of a white dress shirt, the whole outfit making the fae appear rather unkempt. The grate of Donovan’s shoes upon the tiles continued at a sluggish pace, propelling the teenager toward the centre’s front desk. It had been to longer a time since the fae had been here, only vague images of large rooms and unspeakable incidents remaining within his haunted mind, and what sights he managed to gather from beneath his curtain of purplish locks served to awaken more mundane remembering’s.
Reaching the front desk the fae lifted a hand to push his hair back behind his ear, the action exposing his worn and tired expression.
“I’m here to see Shy” Donovan said softly, addressing the woman behind the desk, “is he in?”
((Ohh I have been meaning to ask what the extent of Donnie's powers are. Would he be able, for example, to make something think they were crazy or suffering from a mental disorder through effecting differant areas of the brain?))

((Thanks for bringing it up first! One of the things we need to discuss is how far Donovan's power will advance. What we decide upon will be his limit- of course when he reaches adult hood it will/might grow, but we're not going to focus on that. Just, what he will have accomplished by the end of teenhood.
Also, we need to work on memories. I want to get a rough idea, not to say yes or no (I don't want to be so totalitarian) but so know the way you're going. Donovan will get half of his memories back by the end of teenhood. So it makes me feel a little bit better knowing that something is happening. XD
Donovan's power, I think so. Not completely-- he'll be able to cause injury to different parts of the brain, and with practice, he'll be able to pinpoint what causes hallucinations etc. But he can't make people hallucinate or hear voices by hurting the brain... does that make sense? XD He can hurt the body, and he can learn what causes what, but he can't outright from the start cause something by hurting them. >> it prolly doesn't make sense, huh? XD This is because another fae may have healingish powers.
How far do you see Donovan's power advancing?))
Beth looked up, curious to see this fae in front of her. Had she met him before? Hah. And she had thought she had seen all of them! This 'temporary reassignment' was proving to be very long indeed.
"He is." she said cautiously, replying only because she knew what he was. "He isn't in his office though. He's actually in the labs. Can you find your way?" probably not.
"Donovan!" came the startled voice. Ae rushed in from the inside, carrying a large white shopping bag. It looked expensive. "Are you here to see Shy? And look at how far you've grown." warm love lit her eyes as she rushed to give him a hug.
"I'll take him, Beth. Where is he?"
"The labs." she supplied quickly.

The fae had opened his mouth the reply to Beth’s question when a familiar voice cut him off. Moments later Ae wrapped her arms around Donovan, causing the teen to initially stiffen before relaxing into the embrace. Stepping back from his tutor, Donnie managed a faint smile in greeting. Much like it had been with the project headquarters; it had also been far too long since he had seen both Ae and Trojan.
“I’m here for another medical evaluation” Donovan elaborated in his soft tone, taking the shopping bag from Ae’s arms as he waited for her to lead the way to the labs. “It has been a while since I’ve seen both you and Trojan” the fae commented a moment later, “are you both well?”
((No it makes perfect sense ^^ So basically he can effect the physical structures of the body but he can’t directly cause a emotional/perceptual response? If he damages a brain section that is responsible for movement, speech or another physical skill would it result in that an impairment of that skill?
Memories wise I haven’t settled on anything completely concrete, although I do have a few ideas floating about in my head. I was thinking of perhaps expanding upon the memory that he has already had, or concocting similar types of memories for him although I think that might get a little repetitive >.< On the other hand, I was toying with the idea of having a darker side to Donovan’s character – one that delights in causing pain and injury to others? I know many of the others have included another fae character in there memories, I don’t know whether that would be something I should also do with Donnie?
As far as his powers are concerned, I suppose I basically just see him having advanced in his level of control and skill when it comes to healing. His knowledge of anatomy would have grown considerably as well his understanding of injuries and diseases and their effects upon the body. In regards to control he would be able to heal finer and more delicate areas, although they would still prove to be exceptionally challenging and draining to Donovan himself. Is that okay? Do you have other ideas on the subject?))

Ae made a face. It was out of fun, of course. "Trojan is the same. That one will never change, I think." with a snicker, she loped one arm over Donovan's shoulder, nodding. "Shy, is it? I can take him, Beth." she said over her shoulder as she gently led the younger fae towards the lifts. "I had hoped to catch you, actually. Trojan and I will be gone for a while." her smile turned more playful as she ducked her head.
"We're to embark on our quests together." there was a touch of worry in her eyes that she tried to shake away. "Shy will give you the whole speech on what your new duties will be, but I thought you should hear about that from the both of us."
((Memories sound good. You don't need to involve another, at all. ^^ At the end of teenhood he'll have 50%. So as long as you work that out long term, everything should be fine.
I thought that Donovan would be able to do that too. In his case, it seems not only is his gift great, but his knowledge makes the most out of his gift. XD Small acts. I can see him being great help to mental hospitals who are trying to figure out if their patients suffer from something more. If it's curable, and the like?
Hmmm. Thats it!))

Donovan made all the appropriate response to Ae’s conversation, smiling faintly and even offering a brief chuckle as she made a light fun of Trojan, but her final statement (regarding them leaving) left him stunned and bewildered. “You’re both leaving?” Donnie repeated, failing to keep his emotion from his words, “for how long?”. Pushing the button to call the lift Donovan stepped inside once the doors had opened, turning to wait for Ae to take them to the appropriate floor. The fae’s mind reeled as he stood within the confines of the elevator. How could they leave him? They had been their since the beginning, aiding and guiding him as he struggled to accept and learn his powers, and now they were leaving him? At the same time Donovan could help but feel that his own thoughts were selfish. They had their own lives to lead, as did he, and he couldn’t expect them to interrupt their life journey’s because of him.
“I wish you both luck for your quests” Donovan said quietly, his tone flat and head lowered.
((Yay for sorting stuff out xP The memories shouldn't be a problem once I sit down and nut them all out ^^ The mental hospital thing sounds interesting - would also give me a chance to apply all my psychology knowledge xP
Ohhh and did you catch the first question I asked in the last post?))

Ae winced at the tone. "Be more excited for us." she said, smiling slightly, trying to look engaging as she nodded her head. "We've never done this before either. I don't know... a month, a year?" she looked distinctly nervous. "They promised that it's fail safe, but..."
The door they were standing in front of swung open too soon, and Shy, who had been listening in through the intercom smiled. "Donovan." he said warmly, nodding his head. "Trojan is on his way. Please, come in. Have something to eat."
He was beaming, proud that this one had come back too.
"And congratulations! You look very well."
((first question? Oh, yep. XD just how you've interpreted it))

Guilt invaded Donovan’s expression which, thanks to his lowered countenance, remained hidden from Ae’s eyes. He wanted to be happier for them, excited that they were embarking on such a journey, but he couldn’t manage to drag himself out of his own well of self pity. Words had been about to part from his lips, ones that would have attempted to reassure Ae that everything would work out fine, but his statements were cut short as the door before them opened – revealing the familiar form of Shy.
Inclining his head in greeting to the scientist, Donovan moved past the man and into the room. He would decline the offer of food, not feeling hungry, and instead settled for moving somewhere that was out of the rooms main flow areas.
“Thankyou” the fae teen replied to Shy’s comment, quickly adding – “Ae mentioned something about new duties coinciding with the medical evaluation”

Shy nodded, taking all this at once. "As a teen, you'll be expected to take a larger role in the 030 project. You'll have residential areas here, for one. Ae or Trojan will show you around and let you have a pick of rooms. The selection is quite large, because few teens have come our way so far. But it is also quite small, since some areas of the lab have not been finished."
Ae nodded. "Rooms, and passes, so you can go to other areas. There are libraries with more books about us than you could think of, and gyms, saunas, things like that. That's where we spend our time, when we're not in the other worlds. Or shopping." she added with a grin.
Shy smiled. Ae was one of the few who had embraced life with the humans. "Soon, you might be called upon to be a tutor for one of the other fae. A child who is to have their medical evaluation." he smiled slightly, at that. "Or one who has discovered their power, and whose tutors are not well equipped."
Ae smiled. A proud, knowing grin of a parent who knew that her child would excel at whatever it was that was placed in front of them.
"And the teleporation room." she said, her voice hushed. "It lets you talk to others in the two courts, and takes you there too." she closed her eyes, a slight flush on her cheeks.
It was still too surreal for her.

Donovan listened silently as Shy began his explanation, remaining quiet as Ae interjected the scientists spiel. As a child the fae had never contemplated just how extensive an area Shy’s facility occupied but, the more Shy and Ae revealed, the more extensive Donovan’s image of the building became. Everything sounded so grand and overwhelming in scope and scale, with the teenage fae soon sharing similar surreal feelings as his tutor. Giving his head a light shake, an action that shifted his dark tresses into his face once more, Donovan forced himself to push away his odd feelings in favour of posing Shy several questions.
“I would…get my own room?” the fae repeated, more to confirm that though for himself then to ask Shy to repeat his earlier statement. “Would I still be free to visit my family and have them visit us?” he asked next, weighing up whether he should shift from his family home to the 030 building. With his recent resurfacing of memories Donovan had come to fear that he could unintentionally cause to harm his family, something he hoped to never do, and Shy’s offer would see the threat he posed to his mothers and siblings lessened. Moments after the first question, the second one followed. “You trust me enough to be more involved? To be a tutor?” Donovan enquired, clearly lacking the same faith in himself.

Trojan chose that moment to walk in. "Of course." he sounded surprised, a little bit baffled. "Donovan."
Shy smiled. "Of course. You could choose to remain at your current guardian's and use this place as little more than a retreat. A place to recuperate and rest at, if you are called upon to make a visit to the other courts. or." he looked at Ae and Trojan. "If you go off to your teen quest."
The two tutors exchanged a look of quiet joy at that statement, brimming with excitement that was just barely contained by the will of... well... politeness. "You'll be closer to us too." Ae breathed.
Trojan grimaced. "Stop trying to mother him." he said, half amused, half nostalgic.

Lifting his head, Donovan offered Trojan a faint yet welcoming smile as he entered. Turning back to Shy as he answered the questions posed to him, the teen fae shook is head briefly before stating – “I would like to live within the residential area if that’s okay”.
As the impending teen quest for Ae and Trojan was mentioned once more Donovan managed to direct a brighter smile toward his tutors, one that revealed his excitement and happiness for the pair while serving to hide the current of dread still roiling within him. The brighter visage remained as Trojan and Ae conversed, Donovan even registering amusement at their friendly banter.
“Will there be another check-up before Ae and Trojan show me around?” Donnie asked, turning the conversation back to the reason for his visit.

Shy nodded, laughing. "It'll be better for me too." he looked up at Trojan, and Trojan nodded.
"I'll forward it to your computer, so that we can take him on his tour right after." he was grinning as he said this. He was looking forewords to this- why, the fae wasn't quite sure.
Ae in hte meanwhile, nodded, offer a hand to Donovan. She still liked to have close proximity to him, and beamed. "Come on, sweetheart." she said. "Let's get this over and done with so that I can show you the rooms."
She was as giddy as a school girl.

Taking the hand that Ae offered him the teenager offered his tutor and friend a small smile, his dark orbs widening slightly at the name that she called him. He had been called such names before by his mothers, but yet it still felt odd to her such words from Ae, and if it hadn’t been for the darkness of his skin a clear blush would have been evident upon his cheeks.
“Will it be a similar process to last time?” Donovan asked, a bare hint of a nervous tremor in his voice. Despite the dealings he had with hospitals and illness, Donovan was still hesitant to be on the receiving end of medical treatment – especially considering how delicate the body actually was.

Ae nodded, and smiled. "Of course." she said gently.
((... woow. a one liner. How illegal is that??))
Trojan raised a hand to his brown in a sign of salute, and Shy nodded.
((two liner. an improvement!
med evaluation will come next.))
