I'm a fan of small elite numbers, but not that small.

Well, it would depend on exactly how that is listed.
If that is just a general list of everything you plan to buy, however per game you will mix and match, I see very little wrong with it. As an army list however....
Considering your problably going with the first one anyway, my only suggestions are that you buy all the assassins, (if money isn't an issue)for they each have roles that are great, but only against certain armies, opponents, etc.
Also, to be completely honest, I really see no need for that many Inquisitorial Stormtroopers. They definitely pack a punch, especially for their trivial point cost, but you will most likely never need the full mass of 40 (considering your playing sane point costs) I have survived on 10 for quite a while, and am only just now upgrading to 20, where the second 10 will be used only in rare circumstances.
Other than that, if your willing to spend that kind of cash, go for it.

That List is way to small, and I think a 3,500 points value game is way to rare. I would go for around 1,850 - 2,000pts. A good idea is to Run the GK's with some SoB's seeing that they are only one point more than an Inquisitorial Stormtrooper and are no doubt worth it, 1 extra point means Bolter and power armor. Also insted of taking a landraider you could take the big bad Excorcist. Though you would have to call it a Witchhunter list on paper, you could run plenty of GK's as an additional force.

I thought the same thing with SoBs, only 1 point more for a bolter and power armour, what a deal.
However, I still notice I'm using my Stormtroopers more often than my SoB's. Mainly because the Stormtoopers have better weapon options, and are fired at a lot less, giving them (in the long run) more survivability. Also, if you take SoB's, your missing out on the chance to take Space Marines, a great advantage you shouldn't miss out on.

Get the army if you want it! -nods- And don't worry about what anyone says as far as point values go. I have so many different combinations of things, I, also, have a huge point value. Lots of choice when going into battle against any kind of foe.
Happy hunting!

They would make it better, unless you play it with the poeple where i live. They will eat you ALIVE if you try to mis match SoB and GK because of how in the story they dont get along very well. Despite the fact your aloud too.... And like Vinnicuis said, assassins are what make the emperium, at least i think so. At the VERY least you should have a vindicare assassin. also, I would personally go with more GK and little bit less on the inquisitor stormtroopers...but thats again, a personal prefrence. Regardless, it sounds like an amazing army, and a good price too being Demon Hunters : /

that sounds like a list meant for a rather large game, as many people have already said. I would be inclined to agree with the list because it allows you to have more than you need so you can play with more of a verity of miniatures. but you might want to slim it down in the beginning so that you can play a 2000 point game and slowly build up to that

Honestly, and, I know I'm raising this thread from a (relative) torpor, but, what a lot of people don't understand about taking ANY flavor of IG is that they're best run in numbers. I've found that, with most MEQ players, it doesn't matter if you have AP or not, the more dice they roll, the better the chance of them keeling over.
In order to kill 1 T4 models with a 3+ save, (on Average) you're going to need this:
bs4 Bolters: 9 shots in order to score 6 hits so you can roll 3 wounds in order to manage 1 failed save
bs3 Lasguns: 18 shots so you can get 9 hits to roll up into 3 wounds so that my can be fairly safe in getting 1 failed save
bs2 Lasguns: 27 shots 9 hits 3 wounds 1 failed save
Perhaps the efficiency doesn't make too much sense, but take a wall of conscripts and a squad of SMs at the same number of points, and tell me which one outshoots which. IG likes numbers... and GK need a bolter sponge. Think of them as loyalist grots, that just so happen to be able to hose even a squad of terminators.
