I wrote this the other day, about why I like cats better than dogs. What do you think?
Reasons why cats are infinitely better than dogs:
1. Cats are lazy. They don't move unless they have to. Dogs are energetic, and run all over the place... all. the. time. Cats will take naps on/with you. Dogs will jump on you... sometimes strongly enough to knock you over, or at least make you step back a few feet.
2. Dogs make uber loud noises. For example, late at night, when normal people are trying to sleep, they'll constantly bark unbearably loud at... other dogs, the moon(?), or most likely nothing at all. They make loud panting noises which also get annoying... The sounds cats make are always quiet and pleasant (unless they're growling, but in that case you probably have done something to make them angry, which does take some effort because normally they're too lazy to care anyway).
3. Dogs (generally) get so much bigger than cats (please bear in mind that I'm referring to house cats only). This means they have an easier time of knocking you over when they jump on you (which cats don't do anyway), and of just being in the way of things.
4. When cats meet new people, they're suspicious at first, and just kind of glare at you. But normally all you have to do to earn their trust is let them sniff you a few times. Dogs, however, when they first meet you, will jump on you, slobber on you, and not leave you along while you're still in the same room. Eek O.O
5. Dogs hump you. I have never met a cat that humped me before. And I do find it rather disturbing (the humping, that is).
6. Dogs have big mouths, with bad breath, and as stated earlier, they slobber on everything. Cats have small mouths, you can't tell if they have bad breath because their mouths are small enough to not be all over the place. And they always have the cutest yawns ^^
7. Cats piss and crap in one place -- the litterbox. Dogs, however, will do it anywhere, and everywhere... all over the yard. It takes them at least 5-10 minutes to do their business because they have to do it on every mailbox, bush, and electrical box possible o.O You find dog crap everywhere, and everyone complains about stepping in it... but no one ever complains about stepping in cat crap ^^
8. Going along with number 7: Cats aren't stupid, and don't have to mark their territory (by peeing on it...). They just don't care. Dogs do, for some odd reason... (even though the majority of mailboxes they piss on aren't their own anyway...).
9. Generally, cats stay inside and dogs stay outside. Inside is better than outside. And in any case, cats are more domesticated than dogs. Less wild, and such.
And now, onto some things that are just awesome about cats:
1. Cats don't give a ******** what you think. They don't care about you. They're amazingly selfish. It's great ^^ And hilarious, too. (Ok, maybe that's not such a good thing, but it's a trait I happen to admire).
2. They're adorable, for SO many reasons O.O But they just are. I mean... awww... Look at them!!
3. They raise their butts when you pet them. This is funny.
4. They love being scratched behind the ears, and they lower their ears in this way that is amazingly adorable ^^ Yeyyy
5. They find random sunbeams in the floor, and take naps in them. This is great. I don't know why, but it just is.
6. They can jump uber high. Like, this cat that I'm pet-sitting was constantly jumping up onto the table and counter while I was there. It was amazing. Like magic
7. They have retractable claws. These are great. They're like friggin switchblades ^^
8. They take naps on you... awww.
9. They purr, and purring is a pleasant sound.
10. Cats are well-known for being able to land on their feet. This is a useful skill.
11. Cats can see really well in the dark. This is good, because the dark is a good place to be in =)
To sum it all up: Cats are lazy, cute, quiet, easy to take care of, and just plain awesome. Dogs are energetic, annoying, loud, stupid, and require movement.
So... dogs: man's best friend? I think not. Dogs encourage you to get up and play with them, and to be active and such. I'd rather have a friend who will sit on me for hours, giving me an excuse to not move. Yey cats

You've pretty much summed up that entire argument right there. And I agree, cats are much better. If you're up in a barn loft, and you kick a dog out of it, then it will come running right back, asking for more. If you kick a cat out of a barn loft, then anytime you try to come near it again, it will eat your face. Seriously. I've seen it happen.

I'm taking care of the dog and cat down the street right now, and the dog is really annoying me... I take him outside every morning and night to pee, but this morning he decided it would be a good idea to lie on the ground and not move... at all... for like ten minutes. And I had to get home. And I didn't feel good >_< Dogs annoy meeee

And not only are they annoying... they can be incredibly weird too. Our neighbor's dog eats underwear. Underwear! And it's had to have it's stomach pumped at least three times as a result. Who knows how many clothes it has destroyed by now.

Apparently my neighbor's dog ate a tennis ball once. He had to reach his hand into the dog's mouth, and down into its stomach to retrieve it... that doesn't sound very pleasant. Neither for him or the dog.

I use to have a cat. She was like my baby. She loved water ((and I mean when I'm taking a bath or somethinng, she'll try to jump in the tub, and swim around)). She always licked my face when I'd pick her up, and she'd fall asleep on my stomache everynight when I went to bed. We had to get rid of her when we moved, because the people that we are renting the house from, that we currently live in, don't allow pets, so we had to give her to the pound, and I was in tears when I found out they put her down. I miss my baby crying . There's a picture of her in my profile, and journal.

Your story is so very sad. Why must happen things that are bad?
Cats are better than dogs, 'tis true But I like hawks better than the two.

Well quite honestly I love both cats and dogs...perhaps I'm insane? I currently have a doa, and she is only a little bigger then a cat, and actually acts sometimes more like s a cat then a dog, and then sometimes there is no doubt that she is a dog. But in general I think they are both great for different reasons. I've never had a cat though because my mom is allergic, so I guess I can't be sure I'd like owning one.
