I read the first page or two of that thread and that's about it. I think it's kind of odd that someone who claims they kill only for food and not the fun of it took a picture of her kill and posted it on gaia... stare that's what I got from it any way.

it's horrible that she uses ferrats too! i thought they wouldn't hurt other animals...could that be thought of as animal abuse?

This is what I posted in that forum: Koto Kokopelli I'm not even going to be subtle about this. You disgust me. Hunting should not be used as sport. Hunting should only be used for survival and food. If you have a full refridgerator and a warm blanket on your bed, you have no business going out and killing animals. Even if it is quick, that animal had a life. It could have been a mother. And don't tell me "they're abundant". Mockingbirds, Alligators, and Black Bears are abundant where I live, but that's no excuse to go kill them. They had a life to live just like you and me, and now they will never have a chance to grow old and die peacefully. I sure as hell wouldn't want my last moment to be in fear and pain.

What is wrong with people like her, to kill an animal, then have the guts and nerve to post it online. I do'nt understand why someone would do that, that animal just died in pain and fear, by her hand! Humans are animals too, she should'nt go hunting for fun, noone should, it is just evil. I think I would rather starve than to go and kill an animal that has a life to live, and then eat it, with no care in the world. Who could stand themselves after they went and killed an animal just for so called, "fun", and then had the nerve to put it online, and be happy about it!?! Who is that person to do something like that!?

The person who made that thread said that one reason why he hunts is because he thinks it's bad to breed animals just for food. I don't see how one is worse than the other. Invading an animal's home and killing them without mercy is horrible also. Killing an animal for the taste of it's flesh or for whatever reason is wrong no matter how they were murdered.

I love animals and everything but if we dont 'hunt' an animal, it could become over populated and it could kill the rest of the population. It can cause alot of deisases and stuff.

This is not necessarily true. There are other species that are the natural preditor of many animals that would breed quickly (like rabbits) and make cause for concern of over population. The problem is that humans take it upon themselves to mess with nature. Take, for instance, where I live. Here in wisconsin there used to be a heathy population of wolves, but years ago the humans killed many of them and they were scarce here for a long time. Now there is a program that seeks to re-introduce the white wolf back to Wisconsin because it serves an important purpose here. We don't need to hunt. We need to let nature do it's thing.

I hate it. When people hunt they hunt for pride. Pride is a sin if i do recall.
And that whole hunting for food thing is bull. We have enough dead animals for food. Once they run out then you can talk to me about hunting for food. To be honest, if i ever went hunting it wouldn't be the animals i'd be hunting for. it'd be the hunters wink gonk

Animals shouldn't be hunted by people, they have their own preditors to worry about!(let alone humans)
