I was in a writing competition for my state. Now the writing season is over. But we can still have a similiar competition here.
I'll give a new prompt every week. It's really not a competition with prizes, but just a cool way to see how other people write about the same idea. Try to be as creative as possible. The stories I think are amazing may recieve a small prize.
Prompt for Week 1: Wings; have this be the main theme of your narritive.

Wings, the definetion of one thing or another. The small but powerful arms of a bird that help it fly from the ground. The soft feathery angelic arms that give an angel their appearance. Wings, something people have yet to gain to fly away from: poverty, violence, anger, hate, and sometimes the love for someone special.

With the purest of smiles, humans that left the land of the Mortals were granted with the wings of an angel. As the ascended toward heaven, their new wings will cast a mirage of beauty and wonder with every powerful stroke. Till the would would be covered in the silvery pureness of the feathers that graced the earth. That feel from the wings of an angel.

As long as memory serves, humans have desired to fly. To fly in knowledge, in strength, in love, and luck. Just as Icarus so wanted to fly; he rose, reaching his wings out to the sky to catch the feeling of exhilaration in the wind, ignoring those domineering words of dear old daddy. And although he burned, he sought to soar, not just to succeed. As long as memory serves, human have desired to fly, but only the visionaries have thought to soar... ~NinjaShade
