I personally find Fire Emblem 7 (The Blazing Sword/Rekka No Ken) the best of the American games available. Fire Emblem: Path Of Raddiance is also very good, but nothing like FE7. FE7, highly recommened if you haven't given it a shot. wink

Path of Radiance
Since there was more chapters, it had a mor in-depth story
And it was the first Fire Emblem game I played

FE7. Hands down.
I lovd FE8, but there was 0 character development aside from Eirika/Ephraim/Seth/Saleh/L'Arachel, the other characters just seem to die after their initiation level.
And I've never played FE9, but it looks great too.

I personally like FE7 better. FE8 gets points due to the Creature Campaign and it's very fun to bum-rush the Lagdou Ruins with a capped Marisa with five Shamshirs. twisted
FE9 was really fun. It was in 3d which was nice, but not a lot of fantastic units like in FE7 or FE8. My party always turned out meidocre and never really that great that I could rival my friends with (Wait, what friends? o.0).
Overall... FE7, a lot of memorable characters. Everyone can turn out nicely, though the lack of Sages upsets me... Erk and Pent... eh... Pent makes up for the lack of Sages due to his fantastic growths.

Fire Emblem 7 for me. Aside from it being my first FE game (or most people), it's storyline and gameplay is fantastic.
And it's portable. <3
