I have a question! Well, I've been playing (the violin) for over eight years now, but I don't seem to be improving- at all! That is, I know that I have (considering that I can actually 'hear' the notes now), but the thing is... Whenever I play, I feel as if all my notes are correct! I can't pick out the incorrect notes. However, when I record myself, and then listen back, it sounds terrible! I've been practicing- by playing scores, and then trying to tune it by ear...
Is that the way I should go about it? Or should I tune, note by note, on the piano? It just seems too tedious... I recieved advice from a fellow classmate, but it didn't help (she said that I would improve, provided that our teacher actually help us correct it and such- but the thing is, our teacher doesn't really care about how we sound)... sad
