Like much of the info I share, the info below is from www.systemofadownonline.com. Tis a very good and reliable site.
System Of A Down guitarist Daron Malakian has told Gary Graff of Billboard.com that he is in the process of forming and writing songs for Scars On Broadway, which will start operating in earnest once Ozzfest wraps in mid-August. The band is shooting to have its debut album out in the summer of 2007.
"I'm still kind of getting the whole band together at this point," Malakian told Billboard.com. "After I get back home from Ozzfest that's pretty much what I'll be focusing on.
"I think a System fan will be able to relate to the music, but there's a few different directions I want to take, whether it be a little bit more ethnic or sometimes electronic," he added. "There's just a few artistic directions I want to take with Scars that I haven't taken with System yet."

I'm personally really looking forward to this. I'm glad that Daron wants to try some stuff that he hasn't with SOAD. Hopefully Scars on Broadway will kick a**.

Scars on Broadway cna be shortened as SOB. I wonder if Daron did this on purpose? Silly Daron xd

i remember reading that when the band goes hiatus, all of the members will have things that they will be doing. i know that serj has got axis of justice, darons got SOB with shavo, who also has movies. but what about john? is he going to just sit on his a**, get fat, and come back as soads 400 pound drummer. /jk

I collect comics, so I'll probably shop at John's shop. biggrin
As far as SoB (very funny, Daron), I think they'll be awsome. Even better that Shavo is in the band too.
And don't forget that Serj has got his Serjical Strike company going for him too, along with Axis of Justice.
