Kagome doesn't even have any feelings for Hojo. I mean...he's the goofy guy who THINKS she's his but is too thick and self-absorbed to know she's ditching him all the time and wanting to get away from him.
Inu Yasha is the one Kagome loves, that is the way it's meant to be.

well, you have to look at it from both sides:
1) Hojo lives in Kagome's time and understands her modern needs et would be completely loyal to her. Technically, it would be a perfect relationship 'cept for the fact that Kagome's need for adventures et wanting to help people is quite strong.
2) Inuyasha knows Kagome quite well, but due to his feeling of obligation with Kikyo, puts a realy dent in their relationship. But they understand each other's needs and emotions and with their fights, comes their closeness.
