2. No god-modling, power-playing, etc. Need an explanation of these fundamental rules of RPing?
Note: I've seen my definitions of god-modling and power-playing switched. Don't bug me about it. This is the way I learned it.
RP Do Nots
God-Moding:
One of the most hated acts of n00b RPing. This is when you take control of, or affect another person's character, without their permission or consent. For example, just pretend that there is a god-modling n00b named Joe, who is RPing with Sue. (Forgive me if you are named Joe or Sue). Joe is using his dragon charrie, and Sue is a gallant paladin. Well, here is Joe's post: "The dragon slashed at the paladin, and ripped away her shoulder down to the bone." Now that is god-modling. Sue most likely does not want her paladin so easily ripped to shreds. What Joe should've written is this: "The dragon slashed at the paladin." That way, it is up to Sue to decide whether her shoulder is ripped open, or whether she evades the attack entirely.
Power-Playing:
Another definite no no. This is basically when your character is pretty much almighty and invincible. No matter how awesome it would be to have a sword plunged through your heart and still not die or feel pain, it makes the RP utterly boring.
The Despie:
Everyone hates despies. These are the people whose charries are perfect in every way, usually pretty princesses with sparkling blue eyes and long, flowing golden hair who will walk up to other people's charries and kiss them randomly, or something stupid like that. Despies annoy me, and every other sensible RPer, to no end.
3. Keep the RP in a medieval/fantasy setting. I don't want people pulling out guns or laser beams, okay?
4. NO FAIRIES. I hate fairies... any other species of charrie is acceptable.
5. NO CHATSPEAK. Ex: "She said, "y r u here mr i just 8 a deer"
6. Be at least semi-literate, please. >_> That means using quotations, and all other punctutation. domokun At least attempt to spell things right, too, though I know that no one is the dictionary.
7. No editing of posts, unless fixing typos or something. Don't majorly change your post so that others are lost.
8. Sorry, no pets from other shops are allowed in the RP. A wyrm is more likely to eat them. xd
9. This is NOT a chat room. If you have questions about the shop, or just want to hang out, post in the thread. This is strictly an RP forum.
10. You will luff on Lord Blues Raven (aka organimizer), who actually paid for this guild, and axhead55, who makes me maps. =O heart
