This thread is to one of my favorite games. Atelier Iris was created by the company GUST and was distributed by NIS which specialize in 2-D games. Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana and its prequel Atelier Iris 2: Azoth of Destiny are currently out in the US. Atelier Iris: Grand Fantasm is the next Atelier Iris game to come to Japan and possibly to the US. These games have the idea of alchemy in them and the item synthesis is quite addicting that will make you play the game for hours. Plus they all have an opening anime sequence with Japanese music even in the US version! This game reminds me of Tales a lot.

For all you Japanophiles, cheer when you find that there's Japanese voice-acting ...
I love the games by the way. xD
Golden Pigs are a pain in AI1. I never beat one. Rarrr... I'm around level 60 in AI1. 45 in AI2. I haven't tried out the bonus "dungeon" in AI2 though. ^-^;;

Hoa Dao For all you Japanophiles, cheer when you find that there's Japanese voice-acting ...
I love the games by the way. xD
Golden Pigs are a pain in AI1. I never beat one. Rarrr... I'm around level 60 in AI1. 45 in AI2. I haven't tried out the bonus "dungeon" in AI2 though. ^-^;; I'm stuck at Amalgam! gonk I hate the weapon synthesis in A1 it's a pain to find mana stones. I like A2 better storywise but this game doesn't have very many items to synthsize like A1! Did you hear Grand Fantasm's opening song yet it? It's better than the songs in the first two games! That's what I think.

Nah, you don't have to play the first to get the prequel, they both somewhat stand alone. ^-^;;
Amalgam was a pain for a while ^.^;; So I leveled up and stocked up on items as well (it was a pain to stock up on Life xDDD). Trust me, Mark of Courage + Lita's Pale Wing + Jump Kick = Heaven.
By the way, I never used Sytnthesis in AI1 ... Although I tried it out and I think Delsus's Galgazit Bow has something. ^.^;;
Oh yea, and I think Norn's staff has a Defense sort of thing.
But other than those experiments, I've never used Mana Stones. Only to stock up on Mana.
By the way, that one subquest to get a second Aroma Material? I hate misdirections. D: I thought there was a Water Fairy statue in the Land of Mana. xDDDDDDDDDD

Dj Atlas gonk Toni wants it BADLY I cant find it any where..don you need to frist one to understand the second? The second one is actually the prequel to the first one. It doesn't really matter which one you get first. I got A1 used while I got A2 new.

Tenshi the Wingly Did you hear Grand Fantasm's opening song yet it? It's better than the songs in the first two games! That's what I think.

There's only one thing keeping me from playing these games. And that's the fear of being stuck leveling up characters like any other RPG. Please tell me this game is not painfuly long. stare

Wow never expected to see other ppl that like this game. Since im a big Nippon-Ichi fan i got AT1 when it came out, and AT2 i just got recently. Yep, its a great series. You guys should know that AT1 is the 7th game of the series. This series has been out in Japan for a long time already and has a solid fan base there. As for Ar-tonelico, its comming out this october if i remember correctly. I actually saw a scean in Ar-tonelico that looked alot like the Tales series hi-ougi attack (face cut-in and everything). Has anyone else seen it?
Edit: Whoops my bad AT1 was the 6th Atelier game xp .
