Yakusoku no Ichi: Riviera!!!!!!!! This game is one of my FAVOURITE games...EVER. Although I had to mail-order it, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I liked how it was fantasy-based, but also had a lot of humor in it.
-THE STORY!!!!!!-Asgard, realm of the gods... Utgard, land of the demons... Ragnarok--the war between the gods and the demon invaders--cast the world into a state of violent chaos. Overrun by demons, Asgard teetered on the brink of destruction. In desperation, the gods broke the ancient covenant and created the black-winged Grim Angels. Each armed with a Diviner, the angels descended to battle... The battle raged on, but through their valiant efforts, the angels brought an end to the war. The demons were sealed away, but the gods would soon follow. Leaving their power behind in the heavenly isle of Riviera, the gods entrusted the land's inhabitants to watch over it until their return... 1000 years passed quietly... Signs of the demons' return were rumored throughout Riviera. The Seven Magi, proxies of the gods, made a difficult decision for the sake of Asgard's continued existance... ...To activate the diviner power of destruction, "The Retribution." The Magi appointed to this task to beings well-suited for the job... Now, two angels shall descend to the sacred soil of Riviera -FAVOURITE CHARACTER-
Ecthel/Ein. He is such an accidental pervert, I just love him~! *fangirl* Oh! Ecthel~ Ecthel!!!!!!!! Eeep!
Okay, this was copy/pasted from the Ein fanlisting! Read on...
Ein/Ecthel: He's Ein in the US version and Ecthel in the Japanese version. In any case, Ein and Ecthel are still the same boy we all love. Now who exactly is he? Ein is the hero of the game who gets to be in the company of 4 adorable girls and a cat who claims not to be a cat but is really a girl. Yup.
Ein is also a grim angel who gave up his nice black feathery wings in exchange for his diviner, Einherjar. His duty was to actuate the Retribution with Ledah but along the way, at the end of Stage 1, he was taken by Ursula who casted a spell that would have killed him if his heart was not pure. However, his heart of gold (and perhaps inexperience) made Ursula feel that he could save Riviera so she tinkled with his memories and brought him to Elendia. At the end of stage 2, she gave Ein back his memories, knowing that after associating with the sprites, he would choose to save Riviera by hunting down the Accursed.
Okay, so he's not as cool as Ledah, as knowledgable as Fia, as fast as Lina, as strong as Serene or as powerful in magic as Cierra but he still tries his best in what he does and his sincerity and innocence (excluding what happened in those naughty bath scenes) has won the hearts of many, both you and me.
-FAVOURITE MONSTER-Necromacer. They're such a pain in the a** to beat, but for some reason, they kind of remind me of Ed from FMA...I dunno why... -FAVOURITE LEVEL-I would have to say...the Sunken City/Colluseum level. -FAVOURITE BOSS-Ledah. I just loved fighting him, his "Death" GC was so sad...it made me cry... -ENDINGS I'VE GOTTEN--Rothe's "Office Aide" ending ((I didn't even get a GC for this ending, but I thought it was kinda funny)) -Lina's ending -Serene's ending -FAVOURITE SCENES-Lina/Fia intro scene ((I..I didn't peek! I swear!)) Forest Squirrel scene Boobytrapped Treasure Chest scene ((Ecthel got Bitchslapped!)) Branch-breaking scene ((Owwww, that's gotta hurt!)) Spring scenes ((Not for the PN, but for the fact that Ecthel got B-U-S-T-E-D!)) So, in conclusion, Ecthel is a...pervert? -HOW BADLY I PWN ECTHEL'S DIVINER!-  Because my DarkEinherjar PWNS the holy living s**t out of Ecthel's((Ein)) Diviner.... -Yakusoku no Ichi: Riviera and Gaia?!-Okay, you're wondering how the Hell these two are related? Well, they aren't. It's just the sheer fact that this game helped me find this site. I needed some help in the game, and so I went on one of those Riviera threads, and someone had the link in their siggy. I clicked it, and it led me to this site. My username is after Lina's Japanese name, Lyuri. It was already taken as a username, so I added another "i" at the end. Because I rock that way. Squeee~...

Serene was my favorite character. i got up to Hector and Seth-rah in my file and left the game alone for nine months. i finally decided to finish it the other day and got the Serene ending.
