You might've noticed some posts on Reignar Lazenby's account, written from the perspective of either Lazenby or his dragon, Shiar.

To sum the storyline up so far:

Lately, Shiar has felt himself pulled to the Enchanted Dragons store by a vague sense of longing for something he can't name. He has gone undetected so far, hiding outside of the store and watching the Enchanted Dragons through the window. His master has taught him to regard them as his enemy, but he feels a sense of kinship for them and begins to doubt his master's word.

Unfortunately, Lazenby has followed Shiar to the store on one occasion, without Shiar's knowledge, and has realized that his hold over Shiar is weakening.

Here comes the important part:

Lazenby has just infected Shiar with a magical virus, by mixing something into a treat that Shiar was sure to eat. The virus, once it breaks out, will be contagious to a degree, but it will only affect dragons, not their owners.

If your dragon has contact with Shiar from now on, you can decide for yourself whether or not they will get infected.

Obviously, I'm hoping that this will become a real story-arch, but that depends on the players. From this point on, I'd like to leave what happens as much up to you as I can. wink

Here's what you need to know for RP if you decide to let your dragon fall ill:

The infection will first look like a regular cold - light coughing and sneezing, feeling tired and cold, that sort of thing. Nothing alarming.

After a couple of days, those symptoms will subside, and the dragon is going to feel almost normal again - but he will start losing his magic.

The first thing to go will be any abilities like levitation, empathy, firebreath etc. This will be a slow process - for example, winged dragons will find it increasingly harder to fly.

The next thing to go will be the telepathy. First, they won't be able to speak with their owners anymore, then they will be unable to communicate with other dragons that way, as well.

In the last stage of the illness, the dragon reverts back to the plushie stage.

Don't worry, I will not let any dragon die, and I will not take their abilities from them permanently. If the players can't come up with a solution to stop the illness in a reasonable amount of time, I will give hints.

Let's see how this works out!
