If you have any questions about the game, PM me.
Gameplay: Superb! Very nice, and easy to learn/use! The controls feel very fluid and the movement of the character along with the controls feels very natural. The fighting style is simple enough and it is easy to get through a couple baddies here and there. You use the square button to punch, and the circle button to kick. The kick is more like a twistingenemy basher. You use those buttons and the X button in many combos if you want to, but it is easy enough to just punch and kick your way through. It also offers a few chances to ride this hover-bike-type vehicle that goes very fast and is fun and easy to zoom through the available levels with. This is a straight up platformer, nothing more, nothing less. It is very fun and I definitely suggest it. 10/10!
Music: Nothing special really, the music works well with the levels and is there to keep your ears happy. Nothing good, nothing bad, 7/10!
Graphics/Visuals: As long as we remember that this game is a PS2 launch title, this game has great graphics. They are very clear and don't hurt your eyes, if that's what you're worried about. The cutscenes aren't all that different from the gameplay graphics. I'm pretty sure that they use the in-game graphics for the cutscenes. Considering when it came out, 10/10!
Other Attributes: The game is a straight up platformer. It has some nice touches like a hover-bike and riding an animal called a Flut-Flut. But it is nothing all that special. For a launch title for the PS2, though, it is a great game. There is also a thing called Eco in the game. This "Eco" is a goey substance that has multiple powers as known by its different colors. Green heals you, Red makes your stronger, Yellow lets you shoot it out of your hands, Blue makes you fast, Dark is unknown & rare, Light is unknown & rare. If you don't like games that are basically treasure hunts, then stay away. It is a good game in my opinion. 7/10!
Story: The story is about you (Jak) and your buddy (Daxter). You are both troublesome teenagers who make their way to an island that your not supposed to go to. There, one thing leads to another and you find Daxter has been dropped into a substance known as Dark Eco. A supposed "evil" substance. Then he is spat back out and is suprised to find himself changed from a human into an animal known as an ottsel. Ottsels look like furry weasels with orange fur. So... Basically, you are sent across the lands to find the lost Sages, the Sages of Blue, Red, Yellow, and Dark Eco. The Green Sage is named Samos and his daughter is named Keira and they help you along your journey. The Sages all have their teleport gates turned off so you have to find out where they went. Your main goal is to find the Sage of Dark Eco and see if he can turn Daxter back. You end up finding out that the Sage of Dark Eco doesn't want to help anyone. He wants to open up silos from long ago and release Dark Eco upon the world and form it into his own. Of course Dark Eco is completely uncontrollable and his plan would never work, so it's your job to stop him. 8/10!
Summary: This game is a straight up platformer and treasure hunt, it reminds me of Banjo-Kazooie for the N64. It has a fairly good story and is very fun and great for a release title for the PS2.
Overall Score: 9 out of 10!
